Has anybody upgraded the DVD disk recorder on this machine?

The current one installed is limited as to what disks it can record so I would like to upgrade it so that I can record faster disks.

Thanks

Is the model number actually correct?there is next to no information on the number you quoted
this looks like the correct model number to me

Sharp DVHR350H

120GB HDD/DVD Recorder

no sign of any firmware in the first place, you may have to workaround any issues.

Yes, the model is DV-HR350H.

Don't know where I would begin to find firmware information. Do you?

there are a huge amount of comments about your recorder on this site, the firmware available is for the S version of your recorder and the information is all in german.

With firmware everything has to be correct, to mess around with different letters S instead of H is not the wisest thing to do,s could mean silver of course, you may be looking for something that doesn't even exist within that firmware, the comments on that forum don't mention new writing speed or disc support, they mention timer fixes.

All i'd say to you is don't take risks with firmware if you are not sure.
