Don't take me down that road! In the middle of a very long night, at a very grotty hospital, I was pointed in the direction of a so called coffee machine from a certain company you mention. First attempt got milky water, second attempt sludge, tried mixing the two together,by which time my blood pressure was through the roof and the coffee at the bottom of a bin, having been lobbed there with intense passion by me.

Gosh away for a day and cannot believe how heated things have become.

Its a discussion thread for goodness for adults and that means a right to post ones opinions so I do not think anyone needs to calm down.

As for jounalists one minute people are always saying that they read DS and take things from it and the next people are saying that nobody other than the Mirror has picked up on the story so you cannot have it both ways.
I should think journalists have their own sources myself.

From a couple of years ago. The posts themselves were deleted but I remember it happening. People have also been quoted off here in newspaper articles under 'a fan of the show said...', so there are people looking to DS as a potential source. I doubt they have people trawling through appreciation threads! But given that there are people on here who are in direct contact with the pros, if I was a journalist I would pop on here if a juicy story broke to see if any inside info was being posted... and there have been people posting regarding this story and claiming to know those involved. It's a pretty easy step to go from there to 'a friend of Vincent/Susan/other Strictly pro suggests that...'

I used to work at Cadburys... and I loved it before I worked there... but when you are there... the scent of it is in the air and all the interior design (walls and carpet etc) is done in various shades of purple that it puts you off..... Unfortunately I dont work there any longer.....

Well yes journalists may scour the threads probably just to confirm what they have already picked up on.
Anyway what is the point the threads if people have to worried about journos all the time . If people are not supposed to talk about anything other than the weather, health no wonder people are posting on a more interesting thread.
Also if it is the case that journos have been lurking this week well there has been loads on this thread they could have printed and they havent!!

If anything I was confused by why you picked up on the amused comment but ignored the fact she said she was looking forward to being an Aunty. For me, either it did come directly from Flavia, in which case it seems like she's pretty ok with the situation, or it didn't in which case it's pointless analysing it.

Surely we can just 'discuss the BBC's popular ballroom dance series', which is the stated purpose of the forum?!

It's when it gets into criticising the personal lives of the people involved that I think some of us begin to object.

Of course we can discuss the dance series which I have always done however when articles come out in the papers about the dancers I think they should be discussed and I do not see anything wrong with that.
If people do not like the conversation they do not have to come into the thread.

When people start speculating on things like this it can easily become defamatory, which is against the T&Cs.

Well nobody suddenly came on speculating things.

People are discussing a newspaper article.

People have been speculating... I've seen posts suggesting Susan purposely got pregnant to trap Vincent, another one suggesting she was hanging around the Strictly bars trying to snare the male pros... if that was printed in a newspaper they would be on pretty dodgy ground.

Agree with you on that one I am quite shocked at the posters having a go at Susan. Again the press could have had a field day with this item if they were snooping.

The thread started with what was already printed in the paper last Sunday and thats what should have been kept to.

Have to say I agree with Carol here. I do understand that some people are uninterested in other peoples' private lives, and many more, I suspect, like to take a moral high tone and claim that they are not, but frankly, most so-called 'newspapers' and magasines would not shift the numbers they do if that were the case. If discussion of an issue that is clearly within the public domain is distressing to individuals they have a choice not to visit the threads. Speculation can of course be hurtful to the individuals involved, but if they chose to expose aspects of their private lives to the media by giving interviews or posting on the internet about their intimate relationships (and all three have done so), then presumably they expect people to be interested.

I just remembered that Kristina sometimes posts on DS and I really hope she hasn't seen this. However, there was an article with her ex slating her and she made a comment saying it wasn't true, perhaps she'll make a comment on the latest 'news'.
