Given Rock's background as a nearly premiership football thwarted by a medical condition, was it just me who thought SAS's comment about being stretchered off from your last career but now leaving in a Taxi, a little bit insensitive?

It was suggesting that he somehow "failed" in his footballing career too which was beyond his control and must have been really gutting at the time? Or am I being over-sensitive as we all know this is SAS's schtick?

However I don't think I'm overreacting to what happened on You're fired!

They presented him with a signed football shirt from all the premiership player who did make it?

Isn't that just massively patronising? Who though that was a good idea? It really bought the fun atmosphere of You're Fired down for me.

You know your so-called mates who you trained with and who now think they're better than you because they weren't weak enough to get an unavoidable medical condition. The ones who are now living the dream, your dream, and the high life you could have had? Well here is a signed shirt from them like you would give to a kid as you should obviously be mightily impressed and humbled by the mere sight of these great men's signatures. They are in a different league to you!


Rocky didn't look too happy...

I don't get why people are getting so upset about this shirt thing, his mates clearly did it as a present to him to let Rock know they're still thinking about him, if Rocky sees that as patronising or upsetting (i'm not saying he does) then that's his own fault, if he sees it any other way than how it's intended then he needs to grow up and stop living in the past.

If he had to retire due to (what you said is) an unavoidable medical condition, then why would he feel looked down upon? If something's unavoidable then it's exactly that, he couldn't avoid it, thus it wasn't his fault and nobody should make him feel bad about it, especially his best mates he's known for years.

They didn't mean anything to be spiteful.

I found it quite sweet to be honest, don't look so much into it.

I thought that SASs firing comment was a bit out of order, considering he'd just said that he thought Rocky was a nice guy, then go on to mention a past failure - which wasn't even his fault. As if he didn't already feel bad about not having the football career he wanted. But Rocky did mention it on his CV and as he is young, that was his only experience apart from his company then he knew that tha would come up in the boardroom and You're Fired, because that was the interesting thing about him. I'm sure the signed shirt was meant to be a kind present, but you never know how people are going to react to something like that. Luckily Rocky seemed OK with it, and i suppose that's all that matters really.

So maybe I was over-reacting then!

Any sympathy I had for Rocky quickly evaporated when I'd read he'd accused Alan Sugar of southern snobbery.

To suggest he was fired because of where he's from is ridiculous, especially since the winner of series two was a lass from Wakefield.

I don't think he accused Sir Alan of southern snobbery. He is anything but a snob. I think what he thought went wrong was sending a Georgie in like Philip to do the sales pitch to a London-based firm, which as you saw didn't go well at all. I think he thought that his team would have had more chance if he sent in a southerener to do the pitch.
