Hi all

I don't know much about camera's so thought you guys might be able to help me.

I've been looking for a new digital camera to replace my current Olympus MJU-400 which I brought about 5 years ago for just over £200.

As well as a camera for taking general holiday/everyday pics, I want a camera that will work well in low light conditions (concerts, parties, dance shows etc) and to capture distance shots well. I also want to pick up detailing on smaller objects (ebay listings).

I only wanted to spend £200-£250 initially but thought it might be worth spending a bit extra on the Panasonic Lumix TZ7 as it seems to have good features.

Can anyone confirm it will be worth spending the extra on the Panasonic, or could anyone recommend an alternative, preferably cheaper?

Thank you

Before you spend your money have a look on http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html

American based (prices) but it might help a little re features etc.

hi

I would also like to point you to the Canon Powershot SX200IS.

This is an alternative to the TZ7. Both are good cameras.

I would also consider the Canon IXUS IXUS 980IS, but it does not have the zoom of the other too. However the IXUS is a compact size camera.
