Does anybody know of any drinks that don't taste too strong of alcohol but still have the potency of most regular alcoholic drinks? I haven't been able to stomach the taste of alcohol recently.

Why have it if you can't stomach it then? Why not try virgin cocktails instead?

I can stomach it...just not the taste for that brief time.
Probably not the best word to use.

Passoa liqueur with orange juice.
Safari liqueur also with o.j..
Weduwe Joustra Beerenburg with cola.

These mask the taste of alcohol very well and still have a kick.
Take care, it's easy to drink too much of these.

I always think cream based drinks like Baileys or Jago pack a kick without the strong alcohol taste but have too many calories to be consumed regularly!

I thought that was the whole intension of punch and (many) cocktails. They taste like fruitjuice and are packed with alcohol.

Try fruit absolut vodkas:
Absolut mandarin or raspberry, cranberry and fresh lime.
Tastes like pop!

Moscow mule:
Vodka, Ginger ale and fresh lime. For a Gatsby change the Vodka for Southern comfort.

... or Rekorderlig, Upcider or any of the other Scandinavian pear ciders. They all taste slightly different but all taste less like alcoholic drinks than the British ones.

Reef - tastes just like orange juice. Also helps with the hangover in the morning.

I shared a bottle of the red Jaques the other day and that was nice. Like a modern fruit cider you have it over ice.
Supermarkets sell two bottles of it for £6.

I can drink vodka orange like it's just juice, and I'm funny about being able to taste the alcohol. I'm ALWAYS sick the day after though.

I do, surely you drink alcohol primarily because of it's effects on you rather than the taste?

Most people I know, including me, don't. I drink wine or champagne or g & t primarily for the taste. I would drink more but I don't for health reason, and because I hate the feeling of being drunk.

Reef tastes like J20, WKD is like Panda Pops and vodka is hard to detect when mixed with coke or fruit juice.

My taste buds like to know they're having a drink they get one, obviously not swigging meths, but a bit of a kick is essential. If they can make alcoholic drinks not taste like alcohol, then why can't they make de-caff tea and coffee taste nice.

Archers and Malibu hide in most fruit juices - I love archers in fresh orange and malibu in pineapple.

Also malibu in milk is lovely, tastes like milkshake.

Koppabergs Cider (fruit cider) and the Jacques range

Taste pretty identical to upmarket fruit drinks like Schloer except they are around 5% each

Not really. Many alcoholic drinks have a unique taste which people enjoy without getting drunk; a glass of wine or a small whisky or a pint of beer isn't going to have a significant effect. On the other hand if you just feel thirsty a beer is less sickly than a fizzy drink and more refreshing than a fruit juice (which is also high in calories).

Obviously someone who wants an alcoholic drink that doesn't taste of alcohol is interested in the effects rather than the taste, which is a bit worrying. Unless possibly they have to go to a wedding or something and feel it's inappropriate to drink a toast using water.
