Spoiler
It's apparently said in POTD that the Grim Reaper will knock 4 times. And with the fourth knock, the Doctor's toast.

the latter, no we won't and we were never promised we would, in fact quite the opposite with that one.

it was david tennant who wanted the zygons back. i don't recall RTD mentioning them.

Agreed.

There's a difference to RTD hinting at old monsters returning and the Elizabeth 1 stuff. it seemed obvious to me the latter is just harping back to classic Who moments when the Doctor talked about having met various historic figures.

I always scratch my head when people bring that up as an "unresolved plotline" when it was clearly a joke about the dangers of travelling in time.

Ok if water of mars is the next special then. i will cross one of the possible titles out

1) Planet of the dead (11th April 2009)
2) Water of Mars (4th July 2009)
3) The underwater hell! (10th October 2009)
4) The war has arrived! (25th December 2009)

Funny but I was thinking of Ice Warriors too. But they wouldn't be that obvious I thought. Besides the 'Waters of Mars' could just be alien piss.

If this is the title....I have no issues with it at all...but a thought did cross my mind....could this be a working title....I mean it wouldn't be the first time that they changed a title is it?

I'd still say the titles a 'foiler' in that we associate Mars with the Ice Warriors/Sutekh and I'd bet neither of 'em are involved.

i'm surprised they showed a trailer this early, the episode isn't airing till november, that' half a year away.

It will probably air before November as RTD has stupidly said that he does not want to reveal the date too early so ITV does not pitch anything against it but wtf does ITV have that could beat Doctor Who in a ratings battle.........answer nothing! Plus in November the BBC already have a fairly set structure for Saturday nights from 6 onwards it is usually :-

News
Strictly Come Dancing
Lottery
Casualty
Possible return of Saturday Strictly results this year
News
Match Of The Day

So IMO there is no room for a Saturday showing in November and doubt they would put it on a sunday!

Erm, The X Factor will be on by then, and let's not forget that the finale of Britain's Got Talent hit DW badly last year. Not that I want that to happen, of course!

They'll make room for DW. The Lottery show can be dropped for a week with just the actual draw if need be.

Not that you can tell much from the trailer, I get the feeling those of us waiting for an Ice Warriors return will be disappointed.

Ok they might be holding off of revealing the Big Bad, and I know I'm making a huge assumption from a very short trailer, but it feels like it will be a completely different type of story. More like The Impossible Planet or 42 with a more unseen force.

If the Ice Warriors do not appear, I hope they make some reference to the Ice Warriors once inhabiting Mars.

Firstly Briotain's Got Talent will be long over when 2nd special airs. Regarding X Factor. The BBC will not put Strictly Come Dancing and an anticipated Doctor Who special on the same day against ITV's X Factor. FACT!

They will not make room for Doc Who in November is the scedule is tight enough. The first dozen Strictly's usually go on past an hour. So they would realistically want Doctor Who to go in a time slot that will show case it rather than squeeze it in between shows.

Don't know if this is anything to do with the next ep but on the interior o the bus there was an ad for what looks like a book. It;s called "Ocean Paradise" by E R Butler.

The Ood may appear. The PHRASE will probably get mentioned. Its a shame that I have to wait half a year for it though.

IS that one of those "anagrams" like Astrid Peth being Part TARDIS, or Wilf being a Time Lord or the Master Number Six one (even though Simm was the eighth actor and seventh body for the character seen in the series)?

There's only been one real anagram in the past four years and that was Torchwood.
