I wouldn't really say it got hit badly. What did it get? 6.27 million I think. Thats still quite a bit on IIRC a very sunny day.

War of The Masters is an anagram of The Waters of Mars.

Let me revise that then.

There has never been a deliberately intended anagram within the television series Doctor Who since it returned in 2005. (Torchwood was created as a name to put on tapes of the show so people wouldn't know what they were.)

The Water Of Mars is a red herring you say? It's an anagram of the real title The Master Of Wars?

There seemed to be plenty of water (doing scary things) in the clips they showed at the end of POTD.

Does it really matter. We know what is coming...... How soon does the Doctor lock lips? RTD is obsessed. He can not let any 'companion' go by without lip locking. Rose, Matha, Astrid, Donna and now Christina. I just hope the new team take this a bit more seriously and not have snogging contests.

I take it you've never watched any of Steven Moffat's stories? If you had you might have noticed something about them.

Was there snogging in Curse of the Fatal Death? I can't remember, but I'm guessing there probably was.

RTD has said in numerous interviews he never had to change a word of the moffat scripts so all the Reinete snoggin was moffats work.

How many stories by SM involved the Doctor snogging? How many times in Moffat stories do we have intense diveral about Rose bloody Tyler? What I hope is that the new team will be more interested in good story telling than attempting to create continued 'romantic' attachments like RTD is obsessed with!
3 more stories till we are rid of both RTD and DT.

Didn't Moffatt write the character River Song, possibly the Dr's future wife.....

Yup. I think Moffat writes more believable bittersweet romance (Reinette, River) rather than the cheesy cringy romance that RTD does

Where did it say that? The rumour mill works wonders. I heard once that Donna would be revealed as the Rani. There you go.
In the terms of the character, why would a Timelord who had family of his own, including a granddaughter and possibly great-grand children rejected a suitable offer in his first incarnation suddenly become a husband?
If it turns out to be his wife, I think that will be a step to far.
RTD's obsession with kissing is childish really. I don't remember Tom Baker kissing Sarah when she left (Sarah being one of the greatest companions ever and a hell of a lot better than Rose) or Jon Pertwee (who said something along the lines of it would be wrong for the Doctor to become romantically involved) snogging with Jo Grant when she left. Come to think of it, I don't remember Peter Davison ever snogging Tegan and her leaving was brilliant done.

Anyone else think Adelaide and her friends are maybe part of Torchwood -either a Torchwood from a parallel world or Torchwood London maybe ..

If Adelaide is a top scientist- the cleverest companion the Doctor has ever had..i'm thinking she would have been useful to Torchwood ..

first of all, why have you turned a thread about the next special in to a kissing thread? If you want to discuss kissing why not start a thread about?

secondly, SM in an interview sepecifiaclly said he wrote the kiss in TGITFP because he knew it would piss off internet fans. You can look forward to a lot more of it under his tenure, I'm sure...

The next special looks awesome, the trailer looked very creepy.

Isn't that what RTD Doctor about? How many people has the Doctor kissed? Every companion, including Captain Jack! Is it what Doctor Who needs to keep it going then? Lets wait and see if their is a kiss in the next one. It certainly did not need it in Planet of The Boredom, I mean Dead. There was no chemistry between the Doctor and Christina, despite the brilliant effort of both actors.

I hope not, it would certainly lower the tone. Tell you what, lets have a whole episode devoted to the Doctor shagging. We could have a gang bang special.

So did Planet of the Dead and what a failure that was.

A little harsh , i think everything was tied up a little too quickly, but i still enjoyed the episode, and i think there was chemistry between the carachters, they shared a little moment in the "You look human, you look timelord" scene.

I agree wasn;t the best episode but not 'boring' more badly paced/wrote. I think RTD is in 'sod it that will do' mode now he's handing over the series. But yeah I'd say the episode was ok, if not enjoyable.

I agree RTD goes overboard with romance, but sometimes it works, like in 'Doomsday' at badwolf bay the whole 'rose tyler...' moment.

Back to topic

Water of Mars has a different 'look' to it than POTD so will be more serious, and less happy-clappy at the end . I even would go as far to say everyone dies apart from Doctor and Companion, or even just Doctor survives.

yes, lets discuss the trailer, and ignore those that are trying to take this thread off topic.....i am really intrigid by this episode. I disagree with those who felt the trailer for POTD was creepy, I thought it was more a scene setting kind of trailer, whereas this one does geniunly give me chills. I like the fact that we know so little about it at the moment, it seems we almost know more about DT's finale than we do this one at this point!

sorry, the master will not be coming back. rtd said that 2 years ago, and i believe him. DT has recently stated that " if you think youve worked it (he will knock 4 times) out, then youre wrong!"

new rumour is that the knocking thing is to do with the beast, because of ood sigma's return, but im not buying it.

Would love to know what role John Simm is playing then.

Sam Tyler. In 1973 he tries to use what he thinks is a Police Box but can't get in.

He knocks 4 times before the Doctor opens the Door to him.
