A little harsh , i think everything was tied up a little too quickly, but i still enjoyed the episode, and i think there was chemistry between the carachters, they shared a little moment in the "You look human, you look timelord" scene.
I agree wasn;t the best episode but not 'boring' more badly paced/wrote. I think RTD is in 'sod it that will do' mode now he's handing over the series. But yeah I'd say the episode was ok, if not enjoyable.
I agree RTD goes overboard with romance, but sometimes it works, like in 'Doomsday' at badwolf bay the whole 'rose tyler...' moment.

Water of Mars has a different 'look' to it than POTD so will be more serious, and less happy-clappy at the end . I even would go as far to say everyone dies apart from Doctor and Companion, or even just Doctor survives.
