Price of concert tickets
Bro

Does anyone else agree that the cost of tickets is outrageous?
It's only 3 hours on entertainment!
I remember seeing Steps for £19 which is feesible as it's an arena.
But I was just looking at Sting tickets for my dad's xmas present and they are £31 for chaep seats and £41 for decent ones! Plus booking fees and p&p.
It's disgraceful!
As I would obviously need to buy two tickets it would likely cost me about £85 - way over budget!

Justin Timberlake too is £30 a ticket.

Dreadful

Probably because if you see Sting it's a real performance.

Could you really not resist being so boringly unoriginal and criticising someone for liking a pop act?

What I was commenting on is how the price of tickets has risen dramatically - even other acts which aren't "real" ( that word again - adjectives fail you) are these prices.

Why not? Steps couldn't.

The difference with steps was that they knew what they were and the show was entertaining in a light hearted way - they never claimed to be great musicians.

I always thought people on these boards were witty and intelligent
It's the playground syndrome, it's probably going on right now somewhere, someone's said they like gareth Gates and there are the little punks taking the mick. It's so narrow minded and unnecessary - it doesn't harm you (insert your boringly unoriginal joke here) so why the need for the negativity?Sign of a tabloid reader.
And liking Steps doesn't mean I am a teeny bopper, I like lots of music - probably some of which yuo would even call "real". I love it when people resort to that word.
Leave people be to what they enjoy. Why belittle someone for liking something you don't? Musical taste is so subjective there is never a wrong or a right. Why do you feel like there has to be?

Adjectives seem to fail you too.

I just hope it's not your English teacher, judging by your spelling.

Back to the original subject, they only charge as much as they think they can get away with.

It's the same in every other business.

12 years ago my mum paid 24 pounds for me and my sister to go and see a group at Sheffield Arena. I have just got 2 tickets to see Westlife next year and they have cost me 57 pound for 2 tickets. It really does stink about the prices but as Marillion Fan said They will charge what they can get away with so maybe we are the stupid ones for paying the prices in the first place.

Where did you get them so cheap
I paid £114.25 for 2 tickets in the Royal Albert Hall.
Should be a great show though

i don't mind paying about £30/ £35 for concert tickets, i don't think its right though for artists to charge u way over the top prices though like madonna or pavorotti do

In their eyes, charging too much is when people stop turning out to see them in their droves.

I saw Muse supported by Elbow and Kinesis at the MEN for £15 face value (about £20 with booking and postage fees), general admission ticket. Pretty good value for two good bands, shame about Kinesis
