I can change channels and return and press the red button without problems. I don't normaly watch much ITV HD but I think folks have mentioned turning off the stb and turning it off at the mains and then restarting it helps though it could have been a factory reset that cured it
yes central west also |

Nunboro,
perhaps you have the same problem that I did 2 weeks ago. I was happily watching Lewis on ITV HD and the screen just suddenly went blank. The dolby sign came on when switching for its usual few seconds, and the iPlate also worked and gave the usual information - the only thing missing was the picture and sound. Afterwards, I could not receive any ITV HD transmissions at all. Each time I got a blank screen. It was a fault with the box - a factory reset solved the problem. |

I remember now that I was also recording the program I actually decided to watch live on ITV HD - I think it's the first time I have done this, so I'm wondering if this was responsible. Were you too trying to record as well as watch, by chance? |

![]() I confirm that I was also unable to successfully record any ITV HD progs before I did the reset - there were no messages, it simply just didn't record anything. |

Please let us know how it works. Don't forget that you will lose all the scheduled future recordings. I tried all the simple stuff (cold start, unplugging for a few minutes) but only the factory reset was able to restore ITV HD. I hope this is not going to happen too often.

I have done this many times without any problem once it's recording HD on 103, tuning to 103 takes you straight to the HD stream
This is a very strange fault: a. only ITV HD is affected - you get everything functioning as normal, the iPlate, the programme information, the red button/blue button to take you back, but there's no sound or picture, and trying to record any subsequent ITV HD programme fails. All other channels work fine. b. in my case, the picture just went off in mid-programme: it was not connected to any action, it wasn't switching to or from the ads and the remote was in its usual unfindable place under a cushion so there was nothing to provoke it - just suddenly - pluff - no picture or sound. |

I meant to say that there were no trace of anything being recorded in the media list - I wasn't around at the time, that's why I was trying to record. I dare say I had the same message as you had I been there. I tried to record three things on ITV HD before I did the reset and they all failed, so your loss of The Interpreter will presumably be due to the same ITV HD bug.

I had this problem last night - half way through the footie - screen went blank on ITV HD
- I had been fiddling around in non freesat mode 10 mins before - I don't know if this may be a factor ??? So the consenus is that only a factory reset does the job?? |

Raising this thread from the dead .....................
did a factory reset in late April to bring back ITV HD ..........worked fine ............but had same problem in Nature's Fury tonight........ screen went blank - had a message saying channel scrambled etc then blank - Dolby sign only etc.......same as posts earlier in this thread. I have done another reset but...... A little disconcerted now that this has happened again within 2 months! |

LesU... Interesting - I'm ITV Anglia (S) - this happened with about 10-15 mins to go to the end of the program - so may have been transmission fault??
I did a reset anyway - if your HD still not working for next program (at 9pm tonight?) you may need to the same |

Nature's Fury: Firestorm recorded OK here, ITV West Country. Billed Time 21:01-22:03. Finished at end of credits, then went to the ITV HD Unavailable screen at 58mins in, and continued to record this for another 4mins.
Rgds. Les. ), Started 21:00 with short not available caption, recorded for 01:02 with unavailable caption starting at 00:58. Looks like ITV might have responded to Kingdom getting cut short. ![]() Thought - As this channel is providing Freeview coverage for the West Country may be the AR codes are different. |

Heheh, I like the thought of ITV providing a belt & braces approach with their own internal padding ![]() ![]() ![]() I think, but don't know for sure, that the Freesat & Freeview EPG, EITsched, EITp/f, are maintained entirely separately, from the comparison testing I've done on HDR vs 9300 AR performance. But, I don't know in what way the Freesat ITV W/C feeds into the Freeview systems. Interesting thought. Rgds. Les. |
