How can I connect a television to an "LRC SNS6" cable?
Hi All,
I have recently moved to a new house which has an unusual television co-ax cable on the wall. The cable has "LRC SNS6" written on it. Please can you advise if I can buy an adapter to go between this cable and the standard UHF connector on the back of a television set? THANK YOU, James |

More to the point, what is on the other end of the cable? Is it a TV aerial or is it a satellite dish or could it be a cable TV service?
And it's not clear if you are talking about a wall plate or a cable hanging out of the wall? if it is a length of cable and it is connected to an aerial then chop the plug off and put a Belling Lee coax plug on the end. If it is a sattelite or cable TV service then there is no point trying to plug it into your TV. A satellite dish won't work at all and depending on the technology used by the cable TV service that might not work either (even if it is live - which is not guaranteed) Ahh just realised. The connector you are talking about is an F-type. Which doesn't eliminate it being connected to an aerial but might suggest it is satellite or cable. I think you need to find out where the cable goes before you try plugging it into the TV. Last edited by chrisjr : 08-04-2009 at 12:05. Reason: Update |

Hi chrisjr / niall,
Thank you for your responses. It is a brown cable hanging out of the wall. The "other end" goes up to a TV aerial on the roof, as far as I can tell. The "room end" has the LRC SNS6 connector, which is similar to the connector on a UHF co-ax cable, except it won't fit into the back of the TV. I'm wondering if I can (cheaply) buy an adapter, to try it in the back on the TV. Thanks, James |
