I have just received a replacement unit after speaking with Humax TS about not recording and empty schedule. I only had the box working for a short period but only recorded 2 programs whilst on holiday out of 6 that had been set up and the schedule was empty and I was very careful to avoid clashing. They beieved the box to be faulty. Bought when Homebase On Line was the lowest price and their service for replacent was exellent.

I haven't installed this new unit yet but one other thing I had major difficulties with the other box was playback! When speaking with TS I complained about the poor manual and was told that they had hundreds of complaints about it. I asked specifically regarding Media List as I could not get screens that were shown in the manual and it was suggest that I start by putting the recored programs into a folder. I'll find out if this works later. In the meantime if anyone has "written" and idiots guide on this I would like to see it!

Hi old6, The best advice I think is to chuck the manual and play around with the box. I only referred to it once but can't remember what that was for. If you play around with it for a couple of hours, set up recordings etc etc, you will find your way around it no problems. I have no idea why some of your progs didn't record but it could have been a failing of the signal that's sent, especially on some channels, and if you use accurate recording. Also do you have it on auto standby?

There are various reasons for failed recordings and sometimes none at all it seems, as you get the old 'no reason' explanation on the box which I'm sure you have seen. Many people here have said the manual isn't great so if you have any specific problems it's better to come on here as the guys on here are great at working out what prob went wrong
