Does anyone here have the following tv and/or have any opinions on it:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...ELEVISIONS.htm

I can't find any reviews online or anywhere else that sells it apart from Argos. Alba isn't an argos own brand is it? I have no idea when it comes to technology

First up, both Alba and Bush brands are now owned by Argos's parent company Home Retail Gorup:

Which is why Alba PLC is now Harvard PLC.....

In terms of the set in question, it's a budget LCD with DVD player and I pod dock.

Various posters have expressed concerns about the longevity of on-board DVD players. I've not owned one so can't comment, but if you're using it as a second set, I'd guess it'll be used less than if it were a main set.

In terms of having an Ipod dock or on board DVD player, if these are features which you want, then you will be limited in terms of the sets you look at, since none of the 'big' brands e.g. Samsung, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba etc actually make sets with these. So the chances are if you see a similar set elsewhere, chances are it's a differently badged version of this one.

It all comes down to what features do you want and how much do you want to pay. If you want a set with a 'big' brand then it will cost you more than an unbranded set.
