I agree that it was a risk that could have easily collapsed under her and it was largely due to luck that they accepted it by half the amount. Re-watching that bit on iplayer at the moment and you're right about Debora. Although, i don't think they had time to converse about it?

I could be wrong though.”

Debra said they needed to dicuss it as a group. Someone else chipped in with the they would need to consider other offers(I think it was Phillip) which is a smarter move than what Jasmina did. They had the position of supremacy because of the exclusivity. I don't know if they could have conversed but the request was certainly not refused. There was just silence. I bet they could have taken five minutes to discuss the matter if needed. John Lewis would not have walked away if they were interested in the product enough to request exclusivity, they would have at least listened to the offer.

There were some strengths in Jasmina when she was PM. She was very organised and cost effective and made a profit. Compare that to some of the other PM's this series and you can see she has positives. But for me her biggest weakness so far has been her dealing with customers. The quality of the food she offered last week was poor(did not matter in the end but it was still bad) due to her cost cutting and I was not impressed with her dealings with people other than her team. This week she made an offer to the customer that could have scuppered the deal. If she get this sorted out I reckon she will do well but this is the one thing I am not sure about yet.

Agree with you re the lack of charisma, as she hasn't any, and being blunt isn't the way to be in a team. She hasn't a clue how to be part of a team and deal with people, and all I've seen her doing is being nasty, and she was never a barrel of laughs at any time. One day she'll fall off her perch if she doesn't wake up and start being human. She's one of the worse contestants the Apprentice has had, and I'd like to see the back of her and it can't come soon enough. Last Year's Claire got up my nose, but she had more personality than Jasmina will ever have.

Hi, re last week. When they were in the Boardroom, she said "we" had decided, when it certainly wasn't true, as she made all the decisions, and didn't allow the others to have their say, and when one wanted to be heard she was shouted down. Jasmina wanted Med food end off was her style. Ghastly person.

Her personality's irrelevant to me. It is how well she does in the job. The med food was her idea and her decision but it was a good decision. Compare that to the olympic theme and food Rocky went with after Maj came up with that idea.

The quality of the food was bad not because of the med idea but because she went with incredibly basic and used it very sparingly by cutting costs at every turn. This actually worked out well as they made a big profit and lead to some praise from Margaret and SA so there is a slight flip side to the poor quality she served up. Tonight though was a different matter. She did not think about the offer and panicked which could have cost them after the group had created a good product which had attracted interest.

Her name's Yasmina, not Jasmina. It's in the thread title.

It looked edited to me; I'm sure there was more discussion that we saw. I'm also pretty sure they wouldn't have been allowed to leave, have a discussion, and come back. If they hadn't planned for the possibility of exclusive deals before going in, they had to suffer for it.

But she did OK, and certainly other candidates have done worse. Mostly it was down to John Lewis liking the product.

Totally off topic but...

...is it me, or is she turning more orange by each episode?

Is there some sort of tanning bed in the house

Besides that, she's doing well so far business-wise (although needs to improve her people skills) and appears to be in Suralan's good books.

I can't see how they could not have discussed the matter in private. It would have been limited but they could have tried to negotiate it.

I can't see how she did 'ok' either. She made an offer that the customer was completely unimpressed with and she looked like she panicked hence risking the exclusivity being offered which is what was going to get them the big sale.

I expect it was against the rules. It would amount to pitching twice. Like I said, they should have prepared better. I don't know for sure, though.

Saying anything was better than saying nothing, and if 20k for 6 months was too high, they could negotiate down. It's harder to negotiate up. I suspect there was some more negotiating following what we saw, else where did John Lewis get the idea they could have 6 months exclusivity for 10k?

I think the win was largely due to her, definitely a hot contender this year.

Even if she does look a bit like she's going to have your bollocks for breakfast.

What do you all think?”

Nah sorry, I did like Yasmina in the last episode and think she made a great project manager, also she obviously stepped up to the plate when the negotiation started but John Lewis basically said ' we want to buy lots these for exclusivity'. And Sir Alan was right when he said they had Philip to thank for their win.

I did not get that bit, as obviously they would not get an exclusivity deal? Still they ordered 10.000 units.

Yasmina is starting to grow a bit on me. I found her quite hard and cold when she was pm, but she seems to have good business skills and I thought her reaction to the false racist accusation she got from Debra quite mild and endearing...

Am I the only one who thinks she looks manish in her close ups?

Not entirely man-ish, but she does bear a striking resemblence to Jonathan Woodgate.

I think she's going to win. And let's face it, Yasmina is such a beautiful name. It's better than Sharon or Tracy. Yasmina sounds like a lovely flower or jewel. I dunno if she looks like a Yasmina but it's a nice name. Some people seem to call her Jasmina. Most strange. LOL

I agree Yasmina is a nice name, but what's Sharon or Tracy got to do with it. There's never been a person with either of those names won, nor is there anyone called Sharon or Tracy in the competition
Just wondering

IMO that was just Debra trying to get more ammunition on the competition to use against them in the boardroom.

I didn't read any of the papers today but did they make a big deal out of it or not?

This is not just because I'm a Yasmina fan, but I think Yasmina was justified in the comment she made, she was thinking like a marketeer and the comment was not racist whatsoever. It's a term (and i know this is nothing new) that just gets thrown around willy nilly these days and sadly people just jump on the bandwagon which seems to be another trend, the bandwagon bandwagon i've called it haha.

Thank god for Yasmina it didn't get blown out of proportion though.
