Nick is openly gay

This is quite possibly the gayest series of TA ever.
Nick can't be gay!

...what about Margaret?

I could swear I've read it somewhere, but I can't find anything on it, so I take it back. Sorry Nick.

I just did a thorough google search, nothing.

Sir Alan clearly doesn't like hiring women, but I think that's more sexism than homosexuality .

Sir Alan has always struck me as asexual for some reason. I just get the impression he would rather be doing business deals than getting jiggy with Lady Sugar. Both Sir Alan and Nick strike me as not liking women very much but Margaret on the other hand....

He's moneysexual .

Plus nah I think he's straight otherwise why bother getting married if your not interested in sex ?

And why hire Michelle Dewberry over the obviously superior Ruth Badger other than for the reason Ruth was a bit.. blokish .

If you walked around the corner in your street to be confronted by a massive neon arrow with 'Gay' emblazoned on it, pointing at a pulsating mound of men, all resembling Randy the Cowboy from 'The Village People', using each and evry orifice they found for their own personal pleasure, that would still only be farctionally gay compared to the vibe Ben emanates.
Ha ha!

Don't think James is gay. Poor thing- he's just a bit sensitive.
Noorul...maybe. Some sort of History Boys type thing.

Did anyone think that Rocky looked a bit 80's?

Surely that's slanderous?

Surely if indeed he is (and I don't think he is at all) then he should be allowed to be the judge of that and announce that himself?

EDIT - Just seen the pics and mention of a gaydar profile, either way, if he doesn't want to speak about it / let people know it's his business.

It's only slanderous if you think that being gay is a dirty, disgusting thing. Which obviously I don't- being a big, hairy willy lover.
In the same vein I don't go running to the nearest lawyer when people mistake me for a hettie.

Ben is gay; it's already being discussed in the other thread.

His gaydar profile was found. However, it was removed not long after the OP of the other thread posted it. Nevertheless, I managed to recover his pictures on the site from my history:

Noorul - I think he is too, but he might just be camp. I'm not the most masculine of men in terms of personality and I'm straight.

Philip - Don't see it myself. If he was trying too hard to be lad-ish he wouldn't be as open about his metro side.

Plus love how every remaining candidate has shown up on at least one person's gaydar here. Either gay guys are very good business men or the apprentice producers are selecting candidates from gaydar .

What about Nick and Sir Alan, straight or gay?
lol....I'm not the most feminine of females, preferring to do rock climbing, appearing a bit butch, I don't wear make up or dresses. I go out on my own a lot, so people probably make the wrong assumptions about me.

However, I'm married and have two daughters (not that that necessarily means anything), but I've never wanted or contemplated a relationship with a woman (other than as friends), and all my fantasies are about men.

I don't think either Nick or Sir Alan are gay. Margaret I'm not sure about, but as I state above, appearances can be deceptive.

As far as stating that someone is gay, which could well be slanderous, perhaps it would be less rude and safer to precede what y'all say with "I think...".

I thought I'd add to my post, to say, its probably a good thing that other thread was stopped. However, I think children should be brought up to be independent and responsible, not be forced to have the opinion of their parents. We don't own our children, we should be trying to nurture them into being adults who can stick up for themselves, but treat other people as individuals. On that basis it doesn't matter about someone's sexuality or race.

I don't get it perfect, but the above is what I try to aim for.

slander

• noun. the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation.

(from the compact oxford dictionary)

Are you sure? Surely somebody saying you ARE something rather than they THINK you are something without

- proof
- permission
- confirmation

and, judging by the speedy profile deletion.. against their wishes is slanderous.

It is not slanderous to call someone gay.

The law recognises that society has moved on, even if you do not.

What are you on about?

He's not out, obviously isn't ready to come out and there's no proof other than a profile that may but may not be (though probably is) him.

Surely that makes it a false claim and is damaging to his reputation amongst homophobic friends, family, colleagues and associates? and thus slightly slanderous?

Even if it doesn't, I think his obvious wishes should be respected and we should stick to "think he is" rather than "he is".

I do recognise that society has moved on, but your wrong if you think that it can't do harm to a person's life to out them against their will, potentially, in front of less moved on associates of his.
