Can being sung to by a banshee really count as a treat?

I don't think I could have stopped myself laughing if I'd been there. Cringeworthy stuff.

A lot of people seem to like Kathrine Jenkins, but personally her voice is like nails down a blackboard. I was a bit behind on Sky+ so thankfully I could fast forward through that bit. I even thought at the time, I'd have had to refuse especially with such a close and personal environment, I don't think my cringing, winces and trying to crawl under the chair with my hands over my ears would have gone down so well.

I watched a little of a documentary on her once and she sang a bit of a pop song in her normal voice and it was sweet and beautiful so WTF is with the man voice?

Definitely. She sang louder but not better.

Also I thought the winning team looked decidedly underwhelmed when Sir Alan announced their 'prize'.

There would have been a look of sheer terror on my face. Prize? Ultimate torture more like.

Who'd be looking at her face and listening to her voice?

Ha ha, when I saw them having to sit and look appreciative from 6 feet away I said to my OH this looks more like a punishment than a reward!

Having heard her version of the song before why does she try to rhyme "do you" with "hallelujah"? It's "do ya" ffs, it's not that hard to work out

The prizes/rewards offered are rubbish. I would rather not go on the "reward"....would claim I have a migraine. The rewards offered by the US apprentice are way better.

That's a really obvious boob job.

Katherine, what on earth were you thinking ?

It's not quite as bad as last series when one week the winners were "treated" to Mylene Klass playing the piano at the house & whoring herself to even more TV exposure. I wouldn't have even bothered going downstairs for that.

Next weeks treat is Katherine Jenkins and Myleene Klass, naked custard wrestling.

If she was so good and well trained, why did she need to use a microphone? And the room that she was in wasn't too big and there went that many people.

Although that would make sense, the lyric does seem to be "do you", as sung by (as I've heard so far) Rufus Wainwright and the late, great Jeff Buckely...

I was loving her version of hallelujah and was annoyed when we cut back to the boardroom

Hmm interesting...I would have thought Paula could do better.

Not heard anything about a romance, have heard about Katie and Phil though....maybe it was nothing.

Suggest you all pop onto YouTube and listen to the ORIGINAL version by Leonard Cohen to settle this particular dispute.

However, I concur with those amongst you that think this was more of an ordeal than a treat!

I thought Phillip looked pleased but not for audible reason.

I laughed out loud when I read that but kinda agree with your sentiments. Neither 'treat' would be something I'd call a treat or something I'd pay for.

Cohen, Rufus, Jeff - I've got all 3 versions and I could listen to any one of them all day.

Very funny Yasmina was trying to be all warm and Debra was stiff as a board

I think they did well not to bust out laughing during the serenade (though Lorraine had a big smile on her face and was seconds away from a big guffaw).

I would have been sitting there thinking 'bloody hell, how am I meant to look? pleased? Reverent? Can I smile? At this song? Where did it all go so horribly wrong?'. Sheer bloody torture imo
