Both Buckley and Cohen sing "dooya" so that it rhymes, but Wainwright and other a few others try to sing "do yoooo" and it doesn't rhyme

How can anyone say having a private audition with Myleene Klass isn't a treat? It's Myleene Klass... mmmmmmm

Very cleverly packaged celeb for a certain market but little else. Every time her duet with Rhydian gets mentioned I am glad it gets remembered. I thought that it was a shockingly selfish performance.

Right...

that was SO how Hallelujah should NOT be sung.... cringeworthy indeed imo....

though Philip gave her a standing ovation...

Em, it wasn't Myleen Klass, it was Katherine Jenkins....

Damn me for a fool! That'll teach me to read the whole thread!!

I'll have to listen to it again tonight. I was sure Jeff sang "do you", but you could be right.
Ah, it's an excuse to listen to his exquisite version, if nothing else!

Can't decide which prize was more of a p!ss-take - her or Myleene Klass from last year. Sheesh!

Katherine obviously borrowed Lorraine's norks for that pic with Fatboy Simon Bates.

KJ can certainly sing in a fairly operatic way and she will sing opera when she is older and the looks fade. However, I would not want to listen to a lot of it.

Katherine is ok - no Cecilia Bartoli, but pleasant enough.

Not all songs have to rhyme and I prefer 'do you' than 'do ya' - who actually says ya? it sounds so common

Not that I expect Suralan to be an expert in classical cross-over singers or anything, but I thought it was interesting that the bbc let the mistake he made go. Katherine Jenkins isn't a soprano.

It was a bit of a weird reward if you ask me.

I laughed at the prize this week.

Why bother if that's the prize.

Next week they'll probably get to watch a DVD. Congratulations.

If the prizes are that crap, why bother, just send them home.

The writer of the song, Leonard Cohen, sings 'do ya' and it doesn't sound common when sung by Cohen, it sounds sexually taunting.

Ism't it more of a 'Do yuh'?

Anyway, Katherine Jenkins - poo prize and I agree about her nasty performance with the fab Rhydian too. Poor lad

Kathryn Jenkins- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
I'd rather have a cuppa at The Bridge Cafe.

I would have prefered to have gone with the losing team and had a cup of builders tea in the cafe. I like classical but I don't like her voice - it's a bit too much for me.

Kathryn Jenkins is only the "star" she is because she has big boobs.
1) She's not a soprano-she's a mezzo who sings from her throat. She takes the soprano standards and drops them down a few keys.
2)Her phrasing is ridiculously poor.
3) She is called an "opera singer" but, as far as I know, she has never been in an opera-sung recitative-acted out a complete character or been on the stage of any Opera House.

Hell yes. In fact I'd rather have been facing SAS or even being held captive by the SAS.

EXCUSE ME - but I live near Morecambe and

there is NOTHING wrong with it. How unkind .

And how unkind are all these critics re Katherine Jenkins, I

have seen her performing live and her voice is amazing and

she comes over as very sweet.
