Yes, he's playing a role. Just like BB, the show is eating itself, with the usual pigeon-holed characters. He's clearly intended as a pantomime villain who of course will be protected until close to the end, but prevented from winning. James is transparently being groomed as a figure of fun to be mocked for a few weeks, before being put out of his misery.

Sadly with all reality shows, eventually the candidates settle for role playing.

He so fancies himself as a high flyer cool dude and is so up his own backside. He is the most irritating contender I have seen on the show. He makes me cringe. I really felt that he should have been sacked last night. He completely took over the project and no one else got a look in. Yes, I do strongly dislike Ben. Vain little pillock. I was quite indifferent until he started calling people obese and pathetic for having bingo wings. If Alex last year had been like that about his appearance, I would have accepted it better, the bloke was a looker.

He definitely needs taking down a peg or two. He reminds me of a some of the guys I used to go to school with. Would do anything to look good and stab others in the back. And his accent is terrible. With that said, I do find some of his comments quite amusing.

No you are not alone - he is a dreadful little man - I am from NI and that accent of his is a complete and absolute fabrication and put on although why anyone would actually contrive to put that on is beyond me.

I do agree he is trying to be the villain, but he is also genuinely obnoxious and I hope he gains no further fame once booted.
