He seems to be turning it into a Big Brother show instead of a proper Apprentice show. He is definitely spoiling this series for me.

Not a decent one amongst them.

How sad.”

I know what most of you mean. Before in the earlier series, you didn't need to be a total arrogant t*** in order to cause entertainment. We like to see normal everyday business people competing against each other, trying to cope and deal with situations like this, which will naturally result in conflict, drama, comedy, etc... instead of being orchestrated or forced upon us by the production team, who seem to confuse entertainers with genuinely nasty sh*ts. This is what seperates the likes of Katie, Tre, Sayed, Jadine, etc... from Ben, Debra, Michael, for instance. Because the first few I mentioned were natural with it, it wasn't like they were playing up to the cameras constantly. They got on with the job in hand too, and worked hard, whereas now they seem to just want to scream and shout "I'm good at what I do, I really am" but aren't really delivering.

Oh well.

Wasn't Paula lovely?

A breath of fresh air.

She knew her strengths and used them, she seemed easy to get along with, no bravado for the cameras.

A real contender I'd have thought.

Absolutely.

The baddies were a minority in previous series. Now they dominate, and even then, they are second-rate villains!

We decided at home she was too good for this show

I would have loved to work for Paula. I would have told her if I thought she was miscalculating and would have produced any figures she needed on her desk to give her the opportunity to make a proper decision. After all, it is supposed to be a team effort at this early stage of the series.

I believe Yasmin knew Paula had boobed with the figures and between her and Ben, they both set her up for getting fired. The biggest mistake Paula did was tell them about her weakness in finance.

I know

Lorraine, James and Kate are the only other people I like really, but I don't think they have as much potential as Paula.

I think Saira and Paul in s1 were as big a characters. I remember Paul's chauvinism. Nothings changed. And it did make sense to fire Paula because she made major mistakes. The leader of a team that makes a loss rarely survives.

I always find Ben endearing for some reason, right up until he starts shouting and bullying the others near the end.

It's like Jekyll and Hyde. He isn't a total git until the last half hour or so. As soon as he feels threatened, he reacts like a terrier - bites his "opponent" and shakes and won't let go. He can make all the excuses he likes, but if he's put in charge of finances, he shouldn't be doing something else without sorting that out first.

Everytime he started his "let me finish" routine, I wanted Paula to slap him or throw the water at him - she may as well have done, since she was fired anyway. I was so sure he'd be gone after all that, and he obviously thought so too. However good he may be and whatever skills he has, he is obviously not a good team player - and I don't see why someone with such an awful attitude towards his team leader is still in it when Paula's gone.

Now I think about it, it's his accent I find endearing. My dentist has the same accent and I love it. Only NI accent I do like, come to think of it. Oh, and the fact that he's short. I like short men. Of course, that is all irrelevant - Ben is a complete and utter git and should be fired as soon as possible.

Yeah, he isn't so obnoxious during the actual tasks. Although he was particularly self appreciating during the fitness task.

I hate the 'let me finish' routine also - it basically translates to 'let me be the only person to talk' - once he starts he just doesn't stop.

Every time he begins to make grandiose or unqualified claims I try to detect a hint of irony or self-mockery, but it's just not there. What's bizarre about it all is how seriously he takes himself.

No it took a while for Paul's true colours to show, and even then, he was fairly talented with it.

Saira was a loud character, but she was never nasty or underhand.

They were a different kettle of fish altogether.

I know, I find that amusing until he starts backstabbing and so on.

He's just so cocky, he doesn't seem to grasp the concept of modesty. Fair enough, he thinks he's good enough to win. But does he really need to keep saying that over and over??

Yes, because he doesn't really believe it

I'd like to grab Ben's braces, run 50 yards away with them and then let go....!

To me, Ben is this year's Michael Sophocles (the so-called nice Jewish boy who didn't know what kosher meant) (rolling my eyes). Both can be very rude and insulting, they don't care how they come across on the screen and both are kinda crap in most tasks. It's possible Ben is a better salesman than Michael and that might keep him in the show but I can't see him winning. He's far too confrontational to actually win the show. But he has a certain entertainment value. He's so unlikeable he makes good tv. The boring candidates of the Apprentice rarely make good tv.

He makes me cringe as he is a fellow country man - but NI is full of twits like this - fortunately for us most of them seem to end up moving to England!!!!
