What's happened to Francis?
Has she been fired??
Sir Alan use to ask Francis to send the teams in; he doesn't seem to know the name of the new girl on the switch. |

I think her mummified corpse is in a cupboard with boxes of unsold email phones.

Francis is the name of Siralun's real secretary - an elderly lady from Essex who has been with him many years (and who may now be retired). They kept the name for continuity reasons.
The "secretary" is one of the production secretaries; I did know her name; all I can remember is she apparently smokes roll-ups. JJ ( whose got a head full of s....t) |

Frances used to be played by a girl from Telford called Mandy because the real Frances was considered to be too old and frumpy for TV. I've just noticed the back of a blonde head this series.

If the real Margaret is OK for TV, why not the real Frances?

I think people are forgetting the original receptionist in series 1 and 2 was called "Jenny", not Francis.

He definitely has called her Jenny at least once.
Regardless of the name, it's not the same woman who sits there in every series. "Frances" from series 3 and 4 is not the same person as the secretary in series 1, for example. |
