I bought a Samsung LE37A557 two weeks ago. Has worked fine until today. Switch TV on and there is a glimpse of the digital channel header selected before the screen goes blank/black. Sound is OK and can change channels but still no picture. Cannot access menus as screen remains blank. If I start up in analogue then I get picture for a couple of seconds before it goes blank/black again.
Any ideas what could be the problem?

This sort of problem is usually due to the inverter or backlight tubes - as the set comes on the tubes fire up, so you get a picture, then it detects an error so shuts the inverter off entirely.

There are multiple inverter sections feeding multiple tubes, and a failure of any one will cause the set to shut down in this way.

One cause you occasionally see on such a new set is that one of the connectors from tubes to inverter board isn't pushed in properly.

As it's new, contact where you bought it from.
