How loud, noisy and scary is it? Would it be suitable for a 7 and 5 year old one of whom has a nervous disposition?

Thanks

Which one, the one in Earls Court?

I loved it, but for a jumpy 5 year old it might be scary. There are Autons that move... And I was a bit scared of the Cyberman bit, and I'm 36.

hey i went to the one in coventry at the transport museum and its okay th eonly loud bit it the dalek and cybermen bit at the end but its okay as long as you explain that its okay and they cant hurt you etc

and you have the option of not pressing the activating button for the dalek and cyber men bit so it caters for all ages

They are on in Coventry and Glasgow just now too. Going to the Glasgow one soon hopefully, but not sure how scary it might be for little ones.

Just been to Cardiff exhibition - bit disappointed really as my wife really wanted to see it, and we made time to stay in the city.

When we got there, we found that there was a sign mentioning the fact that there would be strobe lighting inside, which wasn't in any of the literature or o the website, which meant that she couldn't go in, due to her epilepsy.

So word of warning - if you're sensitive to strobe lighting, then its not one for you.

I've been to the exhibition at Blackpool and to the one that was at Spaceport. My youngest was aged 4 for Blackpool and 6 for Spaceport. He was not frightened at all.

I think exhibitions are quite boring for kids tbh. On both occasions mentioned above, we went on days that tied in with Children in Need, and there were 'live' characters interacting with visitors. This made it a great day out for us.

In Blackpool there was a full-size dalek chatting away with everyone which was very entertaining and very memorable. LOL at the memory - the Empty Child was walking around for a few hours complete with gas mask but not talking to anyone. Just as we were thinking of leaving, he walked up to me and asked the obvious: "Are you my Mummy?" ... Cue great big shiver down my spine and goosebumps upon goosebumps! It really did freak me, much to the amusement of my family!

Spaceport was fab, there were loads and loads of 'live' characters, including Donna (TRB), Davros, Ood, Scarecrows, and many more. The highlight for me though was meeting John Leeson (voice of K9). He was there signing autographs and was absolutely wonderful He did K9's voice for us, posed for photographs with my children and we had a nice chat too! I almost felt sorry for him tbh, as he was explaining that being behind the scenes doing K9's voice meant that his acting work was rarely recognised and therefore he didn't get as many acting roles as he would have liked...

I've no idea what the Coventry exhibition is like, but I would say to anyone who is taking the kids along to try to go on a 'special day' like we did. Just my opinion though, maybe other kids would prefer NOT to have live characters!

I wouldn't say the Glasgow one is overly scary. Ye could perhaps steer them past the cybermen exhibit after the button's been pressed (but nowt much happens except some lighting and talking ) and maybe the Dalek one where the Dalek rises from the ground, but again, it wasn't much scary at all.

I had an 8 year old there who was mightily unimpressed at how unscary it was LOL

And he's a wuss!!!

We went! My youngest Dr Who-mad little boy adored it, running excitedly from exhibit to exhibit. However he got completely terrified by the Daleks at the end, still struggles distinguishing with pretend from reality so we made a quick exit then! My older more nervy boy was fairly disinterested in the exhibition but also remarkably unbothered by the Daleks! Shame there were no dressed up characters wandering around.

We really enjoyed it though would have liked a bit longer to look round rather than my herding children. Not much from series 4 either, DS2 wanted to see a Vashta Narada astronaut! Thought it was pretty expensive though for the length of time we were there and the prices in the gift shop

Ooo we had an astronaut in Glasgow with a mightily unscary skull in it LOL

We also had Pompeii stuff, the making of Oods and an Ood in a cage (poor bugger ) and a Sontaran

Maybe we have all the Series 4 stuff in Glasgow?

There's a fair old mix in Glasgow actually:

Autons, Daleks, robot thingey from The Long Game, a gask mask from The Empty Child, Sycorax, a Sister of Plenitude, Cybermen, Abzorbaloff, a srcibble monster bit, Judoon, scarecrows, weeping angels, John Simm's outfits etc...

Maybe ye should all come here

isnt it weired that diffrent flks have diffrent experiances as i had a great time and was in there an hour and half looking over everything and Tigger Roo also had a fab time at the coventry one with the little ones as well. and for the price i was not unhappy with it as even if there werent season 4 stuff there the props that were more than made up for it especialy the Davros and dalek bit at the end of the exhibit

and as i stated before seeing and having a pic taken next to the tardis more than made the price worth while in its self.

Went to the local one (Coventry) today was was impressed by what was on offer. It is fairly small compared to the Blackpool one (I went in summer 2005) and only has elements from the current run unlike Blackpool which had elements from both- although given they only had 1 new season to play with at the time I guess that's fair.

My one gripe would be about the spacing, as given how dark it can be having little ankle biters barging around can be frustrated.

Will probably go again before the run ends.

Photos can be found on my Facebook page by the way
