Can anyone think of any Easter related songs? Either that mention it, or about it or some sort of lose connection? Can be funny or serious.

Mot the Hoople - Roll Away The Stone

Soundtrack of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.
Never saw the stage show, but the film just blew me away.

"The Ballad of John and Yoko" ~ The Beatles

Chorus:-

Christ, you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're gonna crucify me

Roxy Music - Triptych

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeE7t...eature=related

Here the soil is barren
Here nothing grows but crosses
They know not what they do
You, your forgiveness falls as dew

Nailed upon a wooden frame
Twisted yet unbroken
Open mouthed a silent choir
Understood, unspoken
Never was there heard a sound
Until the heavens opened

Now the tide is turning
To other-wordly yearning
Though the sun's eclipse seems final
Surely he will rise again

The Boys of the Old Brigade (an Irish Republican song):

"Oh, father why are you so sad
On this bright Easter morn’
When Irish men are proud and glad
Of the land that they were born?
Oh, son, I see in mem’ries few
Of far off distant days
When being just a lad like you
I joined the IRA."

Cowboy singer Gene Autry's masterpiece "Here comes Peter Cottontail hoppin' down the bunnie trail! Hippity hoppity Easter's on it's way!" or something like that. A follow-up to "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town." Now that's real fine poetin'!

Can we get Roger Rabbit in here somehow? ;o}~

We used to sing this at school. However because my parents played me a lot of 60s music. Everytime we sang it, I wanted to sing "There is a house in New Orleans".
