Can't see it myself -there were sooo many characters in Journey's End imo and I think that was RTD getting his and David's big farewell to those they have worked with sorted -so Ten could take centre stage with a few special characters returning representing all the others ..

If i'm proved wrong thats fine and in fact if returning to JE means we see Doctor2 back -double DT would be good .

As long as the specials are fab and it's a brilliant two parter thats what matters -RTD will give us a corker of a Christmas two parter i'm sure .

Please don'y bring Sarah Jane back. There just is no need whatsoever. The same goes for Rose and Martha. Now, Donna, can be accepted because A) She's Brilliant, and B) I feel that her story was not "closed" well enough in series 4.

Although, if Sarah Jane DOES appear, I hope it's just a cameo sort of thing. Otherwise, please god no.

Sarah Jane has been spotted with Luke and the Doctor, SHE has returned.

Can't find any decent photos yet, but filming will have only finished 1 or 2 hours ago if at all, should have some by tonight.

The Sun rumoured both Simm and Tate to return late last year (who did, and were the first two to turn up discluding Cribbins) then the same again alongside Billie Piper and Freema Agyeman last month, so I won't be suprised if it is another everyone and their kitchen sink. I really hope Moffat doesn't continue this in series 5. I mean, once was great but twice is a bit pointless.

Just been reading the twitter report thought this was interesting

Spoiler
'Walking up an alley where we believe the Master was lurking earlier. It's full of red rubbish bags of Christmas decorations'

so was
Spoiler
the Master
hiding from someone in a scene-the Doctor or someone else?

Spoiler
I see the twitter reports suggest SJ in tears as she waves farewell sounds emotional ..

It sounds like Sarah Jane's appearence is very, very brief, that The Doctor doesn't really want to disturb her. He stops Luke from getting hit by a car, Luke calls for Sarah Jane as the Doctor leaves in the TARDIS, waving goodbye as Sarah Jane starts crying.

Hopefully. Perhaps it's the Doctor just checking on everyone?

Though that sounds rather farcical.

Seems more like he's saying his final goodbyes. RTD did say that this regeneration would be different from any seen before so maybe this time he has time to prepare for it.

Anyway from the looks of things I've dialed my disappointment meter back a couple of notches.

EDIT: Ok this interesting. The Sarah-Jane and Luke scene is Episode 18 Scene 153. The Verity Newman scene was Episode 18 Scene 155. Number which would indicate they come pretty late into his last episode.

Do I take it a lot of peole will not be watching the programme then?

Sarah Jane should stay in her own show now.

Does not mean I don't like her. Always did always will. Like Martha (run away and hide while ducking).

Doctor will have to regen after saving Donna surely.

Hope Womble gets a trip in the TARDIS this time round. Even Jackie managed that one (Know Im out of step with everyone else but they missed a chance there)

I have a feeling from all the spoilers and stuff from filming that has been heard....and the involvement of at least two different books...and Ood Sigma...I would say that the Doctor knows about his eventual end......but maybe he thinks that he he will die for good....rather than regenerate....so maybe he is just going around saying goodbye....to SJS...and maybe even Martha and Jack (if Jack is still around after end of series 3 of Torchwood) ....just to say goodbye.....

I'm going to say that maybe Billie won't come back....I could be wrong of course....but the way she seemed in her interviews since...almost disheartend by Rose's ending....she may not well want to come back.....but who knows....we will probably know by the end of filming....

Wow - I must have been away from Digital Spy too long.

I'm really surprised at how negative everyone's being about Sarah Jane being in the 10th Doctor's final episodes.

I'm also surprised how negative everyone's being about last year's finale - everyone was RAVING about it afterwards. Even those people who weren't RTD fans gave it the thumbs up.

Personally, I think it's great that we get to revisit the 10th Doctor's past. I'm just sad that it looks as though Sarah doesn't get to speak to him - from the pictures, it looks like he saves Luke and then shoots off.

I think most people will welcome back the reappearance of Sarah Jane in Dr Who. Its great that a fictional character can still exist in a show for over 36 years.

Its always easier to be critical & negative about something, especially when you don't like the character or actor concerned. However given that SJS exists in a sister show to Dr Who, it does make sense for character cross overs between shows.

I do agree that too many cameo appearances isn't neccessarily a good thing. I'd rather SJS had just the one proper Tardis based adventure in Dr Who in stead of a couple of cameo's. That said it is the 10th Doctors last outing so to speak, so anything goes! And why not! As long as am entertained for 60 minutes thats all that matters.

Looking forward to Donna coming back!

If EVERYBODY else is back, I want Rose back too! Even though I don't think she NEEDS to be back, or should be back particularly, I think if she's the only companion/major character not to return it'll be somewhat disappointing as she's been a huge part of Doc10's 'life'!

I wish it was just a Donna return, and hope that SJS is just a briefish cameo. And is it just me, or is Sarah Jane wearing EXACTLY the same outfit as in TSE/JE? Or does she wear that all the time (I don't watch TSJA).

EDIT: I think Luke is as well

Just a thought....could perhaps the scenes with SJ and Luke be for series 3 of SJAs?
Series 3 will be shown before the final specials after all.....

Clapper board said it is scene 153 of 4.18. (Which is after the stuff at Donna's house filmed earlier in the week, but before the scene at the bookshop, which is scene 155.)

Sarah Jane's always credited as having been a companion of the 3rd and 4th Doctors. Would anyone now add the 10th Doctor to that list?

hmm i've changed my mind after considering that he may just be saying goodbye which breaks my heart because Rose is on the parallel Earth with no idea

Part of me is delighted to see SJ back.

Part of me thinks "oh, for the love of the Risen Hosannah, can we please try to move forward?!".

Well if Kylie is considered a companion when she didn't even as much as stand 10 feet away from the TARDIS in any scene, I think he should

Sarah reappeared in the new series twice (soon to be thrice); she's travelled inside the 10th Docs TARDIS, fought the 10th Doctor's batch of Daleks and has held the 10th Docs screwdriver - and has basically had a significant presence in the 10th Doc's four-year life. She's qualified enough for companion status for me, I think.

I think this may put a lot of those worried about the kitchen sink and all returning at rest slightly if you are willing to believe what RTD says in the Telegraph......

Quote:
“And there's those paparazzi shots of what looks like John Simm - is it him?

Maybe. It's not quite as easy to guess what's happening as you think - there's nightmare sequences, and layers of fantasy, because the Doctor's coming to the end of his time. It's quite interesting to watch things being filmed, and think: 'Oh, I can see what that would look like...'”

Mixed feelings. This would definately imply another spin off show cross over, so Torchwood will no doubt be invovled as well. Didn't they do all this already like? I thought JE was David and RTD's send off?
Anyway, I loved Stolen Earth so hell if they are doing it again, with John Simm, should be superb. Christmas can't come fast enough!!!!!! And this time... no hand in a jar. Mr Smith (the Doctor one) will be appearing at the end of this ep!!!

Would rather have Rose or Martha than Sarah Jane, she's awful! She just witters on about her son being no help to anyone.

Perhaps it was just a mini decoy since they must know production gets followed.

I hope its a decoy and the Master/Sarah Jane don't share scene's together.
