I have found CEX to be very good. I traded in an old Ipod Nano that I never used and got good £ for it.
I've heard bad stories about sending stuff through the post and people not getting their payments. I would recommend doing an exchange in store but be prepared to be asked to return to the store in a minimum of one hour while they test the unit. You can find out how much £ they will give you on their website. They do give different amounts depending on the quality. |

Minimum of 1 hour is a bit of an exageration. Sometimes the waits can be a couple hours, but if you go at quieter times it can be 20 minutes - also depends what is being tested and probably how efficient that store is!
They are generally very good. You definitely get less money for things than they are worth (they do need to make a profit!), but it saves the efforts involved with ebay etc... and the risks! Plus, you get the cash straight away. Also, they do give more for things in exchange than they do in cash (they don't seem to like giving cash out!), but everything you buy is guaranteed for a year and you can take a credit-note if what you want isn't in stock. All in all, it is very good... it does smell a bit funny in there though! |

I sold an old phone in there and took 40 minutes to test it (may have taken less, it was done when I arrived)
Cash values are a bit rubbish, but trade ins can be quite good. |

I dont know about trading instore, just dont do it online. Ive attempted to sell about 4 to them online. First 2 sold fine, the 3rd they sent back to me saying when testing they couldnt receive calls. When i tried it after they returned it to me, absolutely nothing wrong with any aspect of the phone and received a call fine, gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to sell them a different phone a year later. They said they had returned it to me because it wouldnt charge. Only after 2 weeks did i receive the phone back, they hadnt put any postage on the package and i had to pay the postage plus an admin charge to get my phone back from royal mail. Then when i got it back, plugged it in, the phone charged straight away!
So if you really want to sell your phone to CEX, i would recommend doing it instore, at least you know straight away if they want it or just going to waste your time. |
