She'll probably win though because of the "Scottish Factor"”

Would you like to elaborate on what you mean by that opinion of yours?

i find it hard to believe that only scots will vote for susan.

if that is the case then scots should withdraw from simon cowell shows

It seems to me that the Scottish (and probably the Welsh and Irish) are very patriotic people and will always vote for one of their own, over other contestants, whereas the English vote for their own particular favourites, so Susan will get votes from many Scottish as well as English people, meaning more chance of winning.

Just my humble opinion, which I'm allowed to express.

As all the You-Tubers are saying; "never judge a book by its cover", or in this instance, where the book is publshed
... as a Londoner, I'd say Ms Boyle is a star

.. it wasn't her singing ability that captured my attention, it was that she was believable; she sang from the heart and the melodramatic arm movements combined with the yearning in her face leant extra credibility. It was a wonderful performance.

It was a Paul Potts moment. I think the girl in the blue who pulled a funny face should look in the mirror before laughing at the women, seeing as she had a nose like Kirk from corrie.

“Lol at Simon saying he knew how good she was as soon as she walked on stage.”

He didn't say that, he said he knew her audition was going to be remarkable or something like that, which could be taken to mean he thought it might be remarkably bad, but in this case turned out to be good.

He said he knew we would hear something "extraordinary" but of course that could mean both ways!!

I thought that too. Her demeanour whilst singing added to the emotion. She really sang from the heart. I've been watching other clips of the same song by the pros and it doesn't move me half as much.

And I loved the way she blew kisses to the people who minutes earlier where taunting her...

Just watched the clip on Youtube, I feel like .

What a beatiful voice, and she seems so lovely.

I read about her in the paper yesterday, but all the article commented on, was her cat, and that she is still a virgin.

Like who cares, I don't, I just care that she seems so happy singing.

I agree... the whole of the UK will vote for her, not just Scotland, because she's truly talented and nationality doesn't matter anymore when that happens!

I had goosebumps the second she started to sing, I think she'll be a star whether she wins this competition or not. I'm a Scot and couldn't care less where Susan comes from,I'd never pick up the phone and vote for someone just because they're Scottish

It was a great performance, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

She's nowhere near anything approaching professional standard.

Just like Paul Potts will never sing a role in a professional opera, Susan Boyle will never appear on the stage of the West End, unless it's her own solo show on the back of Britain's Got Talent.

Why was everyone surprised?

I have lost count of all the times that someone walks on stage to groans and then sings to a standing ovation.

BGT has pulled this trick many times and you lot are surprised every time! Does anyone ever learn?

She really does come across as being a very nice down-to-earth lady. I wish her well, I think she'll do very well out of this. Amazing voice.

Fair enough , but i can honestly say i don't vote for somebody because they're Scottish and i think it's rather insulting to imply that Scottish people can't think for themselves and vote on talent...just my opinion, of course!

For every patriotic Scottish person there is , there's a patriotic English person!
