Forgot all about BGT starting. Caught it on ITV3 once MotD had finished. Saw this oddball of a woman on screen and was expecting to cringe when she started performing ... but wow, a genuine feel good moment!

It was a lovely moment!

It really was a jaw-dropping moment. What an amazing performance, she was wonderful.

I loved her great personality, fantastic voice!! I hope she wins but even if she doesn't I think she's secured a career on the back of that performance!

I've just seen it.

My dad saw it last night and just put it on for us on ITV catch-up. He said 'You've got to see this, it's hilarious'. Don't normally watch this sort of thing and judging by the dross I had to fast forward through to see this clip I was expecting the worst performance to ever grace the screen - how wrong I was.

What an amazing voice, better than anything I've ever heard on X Factor.

Handled properly Cowell could easily have another big star on his hands.

I watched it again on Youtube this afternoon and just cried.

Pity there isn't a thread about her in any of the other forums, (perhaps someone could start one and request for it not to be moved), as I'm sure there are plenty of people like myself who don't watch BGT and missed such an amazing event. It's a shame that's it's hidden here in a sub-forum - if they've not seen it yet then they're missing out on a treat.

You're right - I don't watch BGT - there was a thread in another forum (since moved here) and that's the only reason I knew of her. I'm so pleased I clicked on the link. What a lovely woman, and what a voice.

I also read the articles people have linked to, including those about her life, which seems far removed from the world that Cowell et al inhabit. I do hope that she can find the success she'd like, without having to be over-exposed to what can be a very shallow and manipulative business. I'm sure that she's a lot of very proud and supportive friends in her village and church, though, and she has a lovely down-to-earth attitude.

Loved her! Brought tears to my eyes with that rendition and I can't stop watching it today.

I know it is likely she will get made over but in many ways I would like to see her left as she is to progress through the competition as she entered it.

yeah really liked her, its great when this happens. Not as good as paul potts. But really felt the emotional from her voice when she sang it. Beautiful voice just wish the audience would shut up!
