Have a few set up problems that I can find no solutions for and which are driving me nuts.

1. Going along with various recommendations on the forum about picture quality in both SD and HD, and having looked at the various outputs I’ve got both HDMI and SCART connections set up and I seem to have to alternate between the two by using the remote source button. However when using the HDMI connection pressing any button (including volume) on the remote defaults me back to the SCART connection. Removing the SCART connection completely allows everything I press on the remote to work fine. Is there any logic / explanation / fix for this?

2. Also having done a manual tune and going back into Menu / Settings the STB mode choice is often greyed out. Other times it is available. Again cannot understand why this should be.

3. Finally!! Having done a manual tune there are many duplicates – 5001/2/3/4/5/6 are all shown as Channel 4. Is this to be expected and do you just have to go through the list deleting all the duplicates and the channels you don’t want?

TV if it helps is a SONY Bravia KDL32V2500

Any assistance, particularly with 1 and 2 would be much appreciated.

Sorry, can't think of an explanation for (1). It's very odd. The only thing I can suggest is to try changing the batteries in the remote, but that's clutching at straws. (2) is probably due to the box recording as it won't let you change mode then. (3) is because it has tuned in all the channels available including the various regional variants. Delete the ones you don't want. (Channel 4 has advertising regions, but the programming is the same.)

Re:1

I too have a Bravia and I only use the HDMI connection, why do you want RGB through scart as well? I find my picture far better through HDMI and just set Humax on auto format (oringinal).
If you really did want both, then you need to cut pin 8 on the scart to stop it auto switching.

Yup, theres no need to have the scart connected, just set the box to display original.

That way the TV will do the upscaling which is better than the box doing it.

The mode is greyed out when you are recording something.
