Can anyone tell me why Britains Got Talent dosen't come to Northern Ireland for auditions for the programme. Northern Ireland is part of Britian along with England,Scotland and Wales yet the programme fails to come here but goes to England,Scotland and Wales while we are left out of this competition all togeather!

The island of Great Britain is made up on England, Scotland and Wales. Not Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. Full name: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Many people in Northern Ireland would call themselves Irish.

Being from Northern Ireland I know the majority thinkof themselves as British, which the country is

Fair enough.

Maybe the show just wants to find talent from the island of: Great Britain , which Northern Ireland is not part of.

Or more likely reason: they can't be bothered to travel to Northern Ireland. Scottish auditions were only brought in last year, so maybe they'll introduce Northern Ireland auditions next year. Or maybe there weren't enough applicants from NI.

Good point. But would they get enough applicants for auditions in Northern Ireland? On the mainland auditionees can travel to any one of a number of venues to audition, as numbers dictate. Some travel long distances. I don't think that citizens of Northern Ireland are barred from entering are they? It just means that they have to travel to the mainland to do so. I think that maybe holding auditions on the Emerald Isle presents the programme with logistical problems.

The entire population of Northern Ireland is less than 2 million people. More than that live in Manchester. Or Birmingham or Newcastle or Glasgow or London or Cardiff or anywhere else they do audtions.
Last year they did do auditions in a smaller place - Blackpool, but they didn't go back there this year.
It's a numbers game and if you want a lot of people to turn up you have to go to where there are a lot of people.
Preferably without the added expense of sticking all the equipment and whatnot on a boat.

Most of my friends (and hopefully boyfriend-to-be with his amazingly delicious accent) are from Northern Ireland, and yes, they would consider themselves British. So rzt, I wouldn't bring semantics into this, as far as the government is concerned, NI is just as much a part of the UK as Wales is.

To be fair though, I think I remember them mentioning last year was the first time they even went to Scotland? Or was that X Factor? Either way, I guess enough people just have to have a whine about it.
