My disc drive is getting a bit noisy, so I thought I'd change it.
The lateest Spinpoints seem to be SATA
What's the latest recomended drive to use?

Well, obviously has to be a PATA; Samsung are good if you can track them down. The current shipping models are using WD AV hard drives, which seem to perform pretty well, and are available in fairly large capacities.

There's a thread on the Toppy forum for know confirmed working and problem models of hard drives, which may be useful:

Thanks very much. The toppy forum is so huge it's difficult to know where to start.
Lots of info there, including using an IDE to SATA converter, for making use of the cheaper newer drives.
Again Many Thanks
