I use cotton buds to remove mascara when i get it on my eyelids or anywhere else (i'm very messy lol). There the perfect size to wipe it off without smudging the whole lot. I also use cotton buds to put on eye shadow when i run out of those eye shadow pad things lol. x

Oh yeah cotton buds are a great tool for eye make up, my mum swears by them and she is a make up artist, she also knows a few other make up artists who use them.

Tip for hair: When you have conditioner in your hair, to help with the detangling, you should comb through with a wide tooth comb.

There is nothing I can recommend more for good skin than a nice trip to the sauna!
Or if there isn't one near you then one of those face-steamy things you can get in Argos

I have always had problem skin and have tried many of the expensive "miracle" cure things but nothing has worked until I started saunaing - I leave and my skin is as smooth as the perenial baby's bottom

Cool - started doing this since I read your post as I too always seem to make a mess!

Have also started applying vaseline to eyelashes overnight. Some handy tips on here.

If you ever need nailpolish to dry quicker, spray some hairspray onto them

Amazing thread =]
If you have a fringe, try and put it back for a short time per day. I found it helps stop spots on forehead

Vaseline = fantastic! Can be used for anything.

Don't pump your mascara wand into the tube - it just introduces air into the tube and dries out the mascara.

a similar one....a little bit of vaseline on the eye before applying eyeshadow. stops it from rubbing off

When testing out shades of foundation test it in natural light (not shop lighting) around your jaw area. Obviously the one that blends in the most is your shade.

When applying brozner just blendd and blend. The jaw line and down the neck are the most common places that make it obvious that you are wearing bronzer.

NEVER sleep in make-up, no matter how tired/drunk you are, always remove your make up

Also cleanse, tone and moisturise daily.

teabags on the eyes to get rid of bags/dark circles (bags that have been in hot water of course!)

when applying foundation, mix it with moisturiser (I always use more moisturiser than foundation)

If your hair is looking dull and unmanageable try washing it with Fairy Liquid. This will get rid of all the product build up and leaves your hair glossy, soft and manageable. I wash mine this way about every six washes. Hairdressers will shake their heads in horror but don't listen, give it a try.

To get the true colour of the nail polish in the bottle, put on two coats of white polish first, then the selected colour over the white (couple of coats)

Colour pops like never before.

I recently discovered this just experimenting, as i wore a shimmery silver. Such a great tip!

Though do remember to make sure each coat is completely dry, I don't sometimes out of impatience and suffer the consequences

Same with lips i put concealer on first - light coat obv and really blend it in

Cant imagine vaseline keeping eyeshadow in place 

Cant believe people still use them eyeshadow applicators! Theyre awful!

If you want a good hair, never use hair oil which dressing up or going somewhere. Use hairs oil at night time before sleep. Drink green tea, it is a food to your hairs.

I actually tried this last night, washing up liquid, rinsed, normal shampoo, rinsed (just to be careful), conditioner, and you know what? It bloody worked a treat!

I wouldn't wash my hair in cold water, but when I'm doing a final rinse (rinsing out my conditioner) this is when I use cold water as this closes the cuticles.

Always straighten on freshly washed and conditioned hair, otherwise you're just burning old product into your hair.

If you colour your hair, use a SLS free shampoo and condition regularly to keep the colour vibrant.

Try adding a touch of serum to your conditioner, wrap the hair in cling film and blast it with a dryer (or sit under a hood dryer if you have one) you'll get bling city hair doing this!

For nice curls without using heat try pin curls or use flexi rods.

In that case, I'll try this next time I wash my hair.

You don't need to spend loads on a face-steamy thing either, you can always do it by filling a bowl with boiling water and putting your face over it with a towel over your head. Just be very careful, and have a box of tissues next to you as it'll make your nose run

I haven't done this for a really long time.
