Here's a few tried and tested that work.
Tomatoes act as a mini face peel. They'll slough off the dead skin, leaving your face glowing.
Honey is a natural humectant and has a multitude of beauty uses.

Bi-carbonate of soda is a very good exfoliator, don't overdo it though. Less is more.
Rosemary, chop up a small amount and place in small amount of boiled water, transfer to sealed jar/container and use as a skin toner. This mixture is amazing, your skin will love it. Mix in small quantities and refrigerate. This will only keep for a week.
Carrier and essential oils. I haven't yet found one that won't blend with your everyday lotions and face creams.
Never add essential oils direct to your skin,
always blend with your creams.
One drop to a pump of cream is sufficient for a particular body area or whole of face.

Remember when applying your face creams, take them down and around the neck and décolletage, that includes the back of the neck, those wrinkles start somewhere.
Carmex lip balm, not only is it fab on the lips, try rubbing a small amount on your face. One of its ingredients is menthol, which is a derivative of peppermint. Peppermint oil used on the skin is renowned for helping produce the skins natural oils.
