Old number
Hi, looking for some advice.
Long time ago before I took out a contract I had a pay as you go with a great number e.g 07777 7**123 So I was thinking now that im going back to pay as you go it would be great to get this number back. I have tried to ring the number it appears as invalid. Now... I thought that once the number was "no longer in service" it was impossible to get it back, however a few people have said it is possible also im sure I did read that sumwhere on here il try find the thread. So, does anyone know for sure? Thanks

No, you'll never get the number back.
If you'd like a memorable number, have a look on eBay. You can choose a new number and then if you're on another network, port the number to the network of your choice. I paid £130 for my number, which is 07*** 123 321 which was on a Virgin SIM card and I ported it to Orange. Much better than getting a random number from a network that you can't even remember yourself let alone your friends!

I had the same thing years back, it was with Vodafone and they gave me the number back after confirming that no-one else had it, and it hadn't been re-issued.
It's worth a call to the network, whoever it is - you never know. |
