NTCSS discs?
Will an NTCSS (USA?) disc work on a PAL system?
Hope this is in the right forum. |

Hope this is in the right forum. What the quality is like and whether you get perfect results depends on your tv and player. If you are referring to commercially released US dvd's then remember they are likely to be region 1 and will not play on your dvd player unless its multiregion. Whats the disc? Whats your equipment? If its home recorded dvd's they will play on your dvd player and any playback problems would be removed by playing them on your pc |

Yeah, they'll work as long as the DVD player is multi-regioned and the TV can cope with an NTSC signal. And to answer your next question...most TVs from the mid 90's on have been able to handle NTSC.

I was going to post a thread on this.
I am thinking of buying a DVD which is region 1 and NTSC.... how do I know if my TV is able to display this efficiently... my TV is only a few months old! |

These types of specialist discs are never region coded (it even says "all regions" in the listing.) They will play on your uk player regardless of whether its multiregion or not. Unless the tv is old there should be no problems. If its a Toshiba player check the VIDEO settings are on AUTO and not PAL which is what they often are when new. Tosh players set to PAL will reject an NTSC disc completely. If the playback is Black and White or juddery then pop back to this forum for a solution |
