Really? I'd like to see some checkable stats for that please.
You, like many of his critics, can't seem to separate the person from the job. People who understand why he's on the show get classed as his fan club, just because they can see that he's not there to do the one thing too many people would love him to do, which is tell them they're great, they're talented & they're through to the next round, maybe even tell them they're the eventual winner. The judges can only let a certain number of people through, & a large dose of delusion paired with little imagination & even less talent does not make for an entertaining act.

The people auditioning for that show & any other that he's a judge for know that he's going to be very honest with them about what he thinks of them, but they still apply, & when they're told they've got an audition they turn up for it. If the "not so pretty in pink" two-some had been praised, they wouldn't have had a bad word to say about him - they'd have been repeating every compliment like a mantra, telling people how nice he was, etc. But because he's done his job, which is ultimately to make sure he still has one long after many clomping pebble-throated icons-in-their-own back-yard contestants have left the stage, they & others like them are criticising him.
Something to be considered is this. If
"most people would tend to agree" with you, where do all the hundreds of thousands of applicants for the various shows he's involved with come from? Why would so many of those same people be watching the show, every show that he's involved with, knowing that they'll have to face him & may be shown on tv doing so? Why would so many people be applying to go on those shows in the first place, here & across the world, & why are those numbers increasing?
