What if instead of playing the next doctor Matt Smith is in fact playing The Master (since they did seem to kill John Silm’s master) and its part of a plan to cover up who is playing the Doctor next!

... and perhaps DT will regenerate into John Simm just to confuse mattters even further
Or maybe the Doctor, possibly with the Master's help, will go back into the time war and change the outcome so that the Timelords survive/win.
This would ofcourse change history, effectively deleting the Doctors own timeline from the point where he originaly left the timewar.
This could result in the 8th Doctor regenerating into Matt Smith as the new 9th Doctor, with the CE 9th and DT 10th Doctors having been erased from history.
