Dave Miller at Real Radio

What do people think of Dave Miller at Real Radio?

I heard him a few nights last week and over the easter weekend and have to say I like him.

He seems to be a night person from what he has said and does not like doing radio during the day for some reason and he also is very close at saying things he shouldnt do like someone e mailed him the other night and said to dave that he should shut up and go to another station(which i think was wrong) and dave said a few bits to the person who e mailed him which im surprised he could really get away with at Real!!!!

he would be good as a shock jock!!!!!

He is doing a week on radio so it said on his FB fan site.

Great that he is back but i am shocked that he has gone back to real as he was not happy after they got rid of him which in my eyes they shouldnt have got rid of him in the 1st place.

Maybe he needed the work? Take it whilst it's there I guess. When it becomes Heart they'll no doubt automate nights

No they shouldn't have got rid of him, Daves far better than Oli Kemp. I used to like Steve Jordan, But Marcs not the best jock in the world.

I put the Radio on tonight and when he said Dave Miller- I thought I had heard that name before! As I used to listen to him when he is last on- and I have to say it is good to hear him again- he is just completely mad, he crashed the weather straight away and then made a joking reference to how bad he was at radio.... and played Meck thunder in my heart and said this song is very camp and special- it means I can take my kit off and dance around the studio, and also I think he said a producer he worked with throught the night the last time had been binned and now works on a gay resort in Benidorm.

I'm guessing he's getting away with this as the boss will be sleeping, not listening when he's on! But he's a lot different to the other jocks on there- i hope he's here for a while !!

I'm afraid 'the boss' is most likely for the chop come the Heart switchover so why not give Dave a last runout on Real just for the fun of it?

I didn't think he was doing the "all request nightshift" either, maybe the station is not sticking to a format anymore- unless he wasn't told about it, to push it like Marc Henry does when he's on?

Marc is a very format driven jock, he gets given something to deliver and he delivers it, which is why he's worked on just about every radio station in the North of England.

Dave is more personality, close to the bone.

He is unique. Also under the right circumstances he's fantastic. He needs a programmer who understands him but also to tell him where the line is in terms of the station formatics.
He will also know he's got nothing to lose so will just do his thing. Long may it continue (again!)

I grinned at that too, not many other presenters who would follow Jo's show would say that- you couldn't imagine Marc Henry saying it!

So, Dave did a small little bit at the start of tonight's show saying "It's tuesday. this is Dave Miller" then a jingle played saying "Dangerous Dave.. He's Dangerous. It's Dave Miller on Real Radio". Why on earth would they make a jingle solely for him?

I remember hearing him once on Bauer overnights (Key 103, City etc) and he sounded like an acquired taste, not afraid to say what's on his mind etc, opinions a bit controversial etc, quite interesting listening, shame we can't have jocks like James Stannage again as well everything's all pretty bland at the moment, it means that Pete Price on City must by default now be one of the edgiest shows left on commercial radio but by comparison with some of the output we used to have it's very safe!

The paranormal could be a great topic for a late night radio show, why can't more stations explore this, Pete Price does on City and I've heard ghost stories on The Sanctuary with Caroline Martin (be good to get this on DAB in the North West), Rock FM could have kept hold of made more use of Roy Basnett who liked to do output exploring the paranormal.

Oh sorry, this topic was about Dave Miller wasn't it!
