So why are they having Marco choose who goes this time?

Until the latter stages, at any rate. I assume it's because they do not want the most gifted at cooking to be eliminated right away by the public. That can surely only mean one thing - Anthea.

And Marco's a control freak.

Does anyone one if yet if we'll get to vote the ultimate winner or is Marco taking control of this too?

The viewers do, I believe.

Marco should be the one to pick because he is there with them and knows who is improving and who isn't.

I think that's why.

He doesn't want to risk celebs back-chatting him then being kept in by the viewing public.

While it's a good thing if it rewards those with genuine talent and work ethic, I suspect he's far more worried about the underdog effect on his authority.

I think I read somewhere that he's very impressed with Ade.

I'd be happy for Adrian to win- not liking Anthea- bigging herself up already- and her husband is off-putting too

6 words, Colleen Nolan, John Sargant and Todd Carty.

That's 7 words

I've always been a fan of Ade, so I would like to see him win!

I don't understand this 'being a waiter' malarki.

What's the point of it?

Surely the worst performers need even more time in the kitchen and will only fall further behind by waiting tables instead.

That's what I thought too. It just seems to be a ploy to introduce some tension and drama before the actual firings happen, and to give Marco a bit of extra lording it up capabilities.

I think they have got wise to the silly public voting that has gone on in various shows so he want to weed out the real duffers before the public get a chance to vote.

A chance to vote out Anthea and Mr Anthea.

It allows the producer to keep the arseholes (i.e. Anthea and Grant) in, with the cannon fodder leaving swiftly. It's what the USA version does, and it has the hand of the producer all over it.

Gifted my arse.

Any reality TV aficionado can see that it's to keep the pantomime villains in!

He's choosing in the earlier stages because last year Rosie Boycott got booted out first and he thought she showed promise. He said she obviously didnt have a big fan base voting for her so he wants to give those who arent popular with the public a chance.

Last nights came across as very American so maybe they're trying to tweak the format to make it into a more dramatic show.

I don't have a problem with Marco choosing who stays, and it probably means they'll try harder because they can't rely on the public to save them for being rubbish.
