I think people already know this, but...

Because the TARDIS interior is having a make over, the inside of the TARDIS won't be seen in the specials. (This was notable in "The Planet of the Dead".)

So does that mean that the regeneration from David Tennant to Matt Smith won't be inside the TARDIS? Does everyone already know this? Or do you think it'll take place inside the new TARDIS? You'd think they'd want to save that for the new series, though...

I suppose the regeneration doesn´t have to happen in the Tardis. Only the regenerations of Doctor One to Two, Five to Six, Six to Seven and Nine to Ten took place in the Tardis

If there is a regeneration..

I'm pretty sure we will see the TARDIS interior in the next special and in the finale. We heard the cloister bell in the trailer for The Waters of Mars so we surely must have some action within the TARDIS to hear this. Secondly from set reports we know that Bernard Cribbins goes for a ride in the TARDIS and I find it hard to believe that we won't see him and the Doctor inside it. The more interesting question is whether the interior will be a new desktop setting or just a rebuilt version of the existing set for the HD transfer, with a new set for series 5?

We will definitely see the interior in the specials or I'll eat my hat!!!

RTD said there may not be a regeneration (and if the other doctor theory is true there won't be) but I think he was just saying that. I doubt he'd give away a major twist so far in advance.

I'm sure we'll see the TARDIS bound to ..would look odd to the viewers to have Ten standing outside all the time .I'm hopeing Wilf will get his journey -would love to see a beautiful Ten,Wilf,Donna in the TARDIS scene.

Two of the production team were interviewed on the Tardis set as part of Confidential on Saturday. It was looking a bit unloved and poorly lit

It also means that if the interior isn't in the specials, the last time we saw the new-series TARDIS interior was "The Next Doctor"!

How emotional!

I'm sure we'll have a Tardis interior scene - even if it's just for Wilf's benefit in the last episode!! They wouldn't deprive us of that scene, surely!!

how about ..... since the TARDIS is psychologically linked to the doctor ..... when he changes, the INTERIOR IF THE TARDIS changes too!!!!!!!

I thought that too before I started getting into Dr Who in 2005. I quite like that idea. Would be hell for the production team, though!

I was always under the impression that the "Next Doctor" was the last time we'd see the TARDIS interior as it is. I recall RTD saying, in a "Production Notes" column, that there would be no scenes inside the TARDIS in the specials.

Maybe it's not a case of a different regeneration, but a different scene.... a different Time Lord's TARDIS.

A prequel, a la "Enterprise" ?

Silly question but is the cloister bell just a general emergency sound, or is it a specific 'Doctor in danger' noise when the TARDIS detects a threat to it's pilot?

I'm still pondering the Radio Times interview where RTD said (talking about TWOM) "When we start on the next script you can sense the bell tolling for the Tenth Doctor [clue?!!]. Something happens that fundamentally alters who the Doctor is and where he is, which is the sort of thing you can only do when you know you're coming to the end."

TWOM is obviously a watershed(!!) moment and will start to set up the Moffit version of the 11th Doctor to come.

In the Doctor Who Confidential Julie Gardiner referred to the last two specials as the

regeneration episodes

Not a spoiler but I fear the self appointed DS spoiler police.

Spoiler
I think a lot said in that Confidential suggests the remaining 3 specials are building up to a regeneration at Christmas. It also makes sense to start series 5 with the new Doctor in place.

I'm not so sure you know- they don't have to have a regeneration if they don't want to.Any number of tragic/heartbreaking/beautiful scenes could come from Russell's pen to write David and Ten out of the show.Julie would not give away any information without Russell's say so-and this was recorded weeks ago likely before Russell's Breakfast interview ..

-whatever it is I just hope it's a stunning two parter that allows David to really shine .. .. and I wish they would ease up on the doomspreading.

I'm pretty sure all RTD has said is that the regeneration will be slightly different this time and not that there won't be a regeneration!

Oh and dizzie the cloister bell is a bell that tolls whenever the TARDIS and its crew are in mortal danger, first used in Logopolis IRRC, and last heard at the end of Turn Left to signal "The end of the universe"

Maybe the Master will steal the tardis and some how he will acidently crash it. Then that will be a good excuse to re decorate!

Although we did catch a glimpse of the interior through the open door. It hadn't been redecorated then.

Nah I doubt they will pass up the chance to let Ten and Donna take Wilf on a TARDIS ride...if it's not a HD set they'll just not look too close at the TARDIS consoles and concentrate on the characters.

I'm actually not that bothered about the TARDIS in the specials anyway-I just want to see a happy scene for Ten and he would be very happy to take Donna and Wilf for that ride so thats why I hope we see it ..
