Not just you DM!

I've just commented on Danielle's sandwhich elsewhere. I don't think it fulfilled the criteria and it looked very unappetising. I thought Marco was very lenient with her.

At least she didn't try to make a pretentious "posh" sandwich!

But she didn't make ANY sandwich! It was cheese on toast!! Would beans on toast constitute as a sandwhich too?

I agree, it is not a sandwich, it is a snack. Snacks are totally different territory!

Marco seemed to like it though, which was strange. How good can cold cheese on toast be?

Now if she'd put another slice on top it would have been passed off as a toasted cheese sandwich ...

I'm not gonna sleep tonight for niggling over this

I think Marco was eating with his eyes - and his eyes were on Danielle

Would cheese on toast count as a type of open sandwich?!

Why wouldn't it be one?

I said to my OH it's not a sandwich and to be honest the gunk she dumped on the bread before toasting it looked disgusting.

She didn't even bother to toast one side first.

No wonder it was a soggy mess.

So different that something can be both a sandwich and a snack.

A sandwich can also be lunch.

He made allowances for it being cold.

It looked the contents of a cholostomy bag didn't it? Gross.

I just grate a bit of a red lester or cheddar when I make cheese on toast lol.

Because a sandwich is something with a filling! Not something on top of it. Or atleast it was back in my day ...

So if she'd put beans on top, or scrambled egg .... would that have been a sandwich too?

I make a cracking cheese on toast, Marco would have been passionately pawing me had he tasted what I offer.

Yes!!!!!!!! And yes .... a nice grating or slice of cheddar would have sufficed nicely .... if I wanted cheese on toast and not a sandwich

Aye now, a sandwich is a sandwich, and something on toast is something on toast. This is an important debate if you don't mind
