DYD Player (Goodmans & DAEWOO)
I'm after buying a DVD player.
I'm considering the DAEWOO and Goodmans. GDVD143FM Slim 5 channel £66 GDVD147FM 2 channel £58 DAEWOO 9000S5 5.1 £50 (maybe £45) + VAT Can anyone advise on either of them please. Which one would you buy ? Anyone own one of these ? To be honest, I want it's main use it to play audio CDs and maybe to display kodac CD's or CD's with JPEGs. Pro's and Cons ? Did a search but couldn't see a thread. Thanks. |

i wouldnt bother with either, they are cheap and nasty, i had a goodmans, it was lousy! didnt play (S)VCDS and wasnt multiregion either.
Go for the CyberHome CH DVD 400 at £49.99 from Whsmith, its a great player, i bought 2 of them theyre so good! they play everything including JPEGS and MPEGS burnt onto cds, also play region1 disks too, along with the 2 year warranty you really cant go wrong! Dan |

So this CyberHome. then.
If it's got JPEGs on the CD it will just display them ? and slide show though ? Does it play audio CDs well with a L & R socket output for plugging into the HiFi ? Thanks |

Well, took the plunge and picked up a Daewoo 9000S5 and it's fine. Multiregion hack worked. Playing stuff I put onto DVD-Rs. Even came packaged with a scart lead.
One happy bunny.

Are these CyberHome CH DVD 400 on the WHSmith shelves or do you have to mail order ?

I can confirm that i have had the Goodmans 143fm dvd player and it was very good, the only problem i did have with it was that the Fm radio would only work though the tv and not just the hifi like its surposed to, a fault with some of the systems, otherwise at £66 for it ,its worth its money , i can confirm that mine played Cdr,Cdrw,Mp3,Svcd,Vcd,and Picture cds,Zoom in ,so if u have those downloaded films on cd which are widescreen u can get a full picture. Also when i played a proper cd on it though the video,it allowed me to record it, which my other doesnt, its up to u?? but i would give this system 9/10...
I paid £99 for mine and i thought it was worth it, a bargain at £66 |
