Kohl rabi
Anyone have any good recipes for kohl rabi? I've found one for kohl rabi with dill sauce but it will probably only use half of the one we were sent in our veg box. All ideas very welcome!

I like to peel mine, chunk it and boil until al dente. Then serve it in a parsley sauce with boiled potatoes. Or slice equal amounts of Kohlrabi and potatoes, layer in a dish with bechamel sauce, top with grated cheese, and bake until golden and bubbling.

Ooh, I like the sound of the second one - proper comfort food! Will give it a try later this week. Many thanks!

They don't taste anything like brussels. Grate them into any salad, or use as subsitute to cabbage in coleslaw. |

I have never understood how people can say that they think they don't like something, when they have never tried it.

Bumping this old thread.
I got some in my Abel & Cole veg box today and didn't have a clue what to do with it but got some good ideas from this thread! I love that I am getting some uncommon veg in the boxes. Last week got black salsify which was really nice but I doubt I would have bought it before hand as I wouldn't have known what to do with it. |

Been looking everywhere for Black Salsify... can't get it anywhere around here. Tried to grow my own last year. That was an epic fail. (kohlrabi and salsify) |
