Is there a way of combining Scart devices, I have a DVD, Freesat, and plan to get a Freeview PVR (DSO means I'll get a signal) but only have 2 Scarts on my TV...

Scart splitter would be the answer. I used one a couple of years ago and that had push buttons to connect required scart conn. Things may of changed but quick search on ebay may help you

It would be a scart switchbox they need, not a splitter.

A splitter will split the source signal so it can feed two different displays often degrading the PQ.

A switchbox switches different devices that are connect to a single input/display, PQ is normally unaffected.

They need to look for something similar to this.......

Just testing deacon...a switchbox was what i meant. The one i had was a 4 port. Fun and games switching that over time and time again

I use something like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scart-Cable-...9785806&sr=8-7

but have a look on Amazon for 'scart switch' many different including those with remote control.

The above has thre input sockets, one output to TV. Any of the three inputs can be connected to the output, and any two 'inputs' can be connected together for recording purposes.

Your best bet is to loop the DVD through the Freesat/view box. Connect the DVD's out to the Freeview's VCR SCART, then to watch a DVD just put the Freeview box into standby and it'll loop the DVD signal through.

Yes, daisychaining is the answer.

As Russell and Scorpio said daisy chaining is the best bet, just leave the one you want to watch on and the others in standby - no switching required.

You should only need one SCART socket to use all these devices which means you still have one spare, plus you don't have to spend any money on switchers.

I had the same problem but jumped in and bought an auto scart switcher from maplins
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46677
Yep I jumped before looking into other solutions, but never mind - the unit has worked flawlessly - got a DVD player, HDR and WII plugged into the switch and still have a few spare inputs when the next gadget comes along.
Problem was I bought a Pioneer Plasma as soon as they were released (cost a fourtune at the time) - so it has limited inputs - 1x Hdmi, 2x scarts. So it's been a juggling act to get stuff plugged in there. Foxsat HDR, Sky, HDRcorder, DvD player, Wii.... I should really change the plasma but waiting for the digital changeover in case something changes in formats etc.
