Cheese Sauce!
Hi All,
I've just got back from work, been up since 03.30 and my plan for a quick and simple dinner was Carbonara. But, I've got home, no cream and no eggs! ![]() As I can't be bothered to go to the shops again can I make a cheese sauce from cheese and milk alone? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and more importantly save me a trip to the shop. On the plus side, I've just found out that the local 24 hour garage has shut..gutted you may think but no! It's being replaced with an M&S Food..that's mint because alls we've got round here is 2 Tescos and I hate Tesco! |

That means a trip to the shop tho..it's miles away and I have to pass the pub to get there. I've gotta be up again at 03.30 so I know I'll end up having an 'accident' in the pub en-route, over sleeping for work and I'll get the sack. Then I'll end up sleeping on the pavement and wearing odd shoes and talking to lamposts!
I've also got Bold washing powder and lager! Will they help? EDIT: Saved, just found half a bag of SR flour in the cupboard..will that do? |

^^ Hope ya cheese sauce worked..
I do it this way.. Melt some marg in a pan.. Then add some flour, until it sticks to the marg Add some milk Heat on cooker, keep stirring on a medium heat Keep stirring until the lumps have gone and it gets thick Add more milk if required Grate some cheese ( i use Emmental cheese, its nice for a cheese sauce) Add cheese to sauce, keep stirring until melted Add bit more cheese if you want, i want , so i add more..lol There you go , a nice thick cheese sauce, and it's yummy for me lasagne..
