from a food hygiene and safety perspective, it is better practice to put the leftovers into another container and get rid of the open tin because of bacterial contamination from the tin; plus you dont risk amputating your hand when you next go to the fridge on any sharp bits!

It's not left over dog food out of his bowl!! it's the meat that is left in the tin. Forgetting the tin, there isn't anything wrong with putting dog food in the fridge, dog hasn't gone near it...

Or is that just me?
