Yep, I like Jimmeh and as has been said he's quite a funneh character plus he's from Brum He's free from the shackles of Mr Maff-U and his dad, he's in love so a fun new person is emerging ”

I couldn't take my eyes off them

Well really during the whole scene, me, as well as a few other people no doubt, were in shock

I'm still in shock now, even though it was a few weeks back. When I close my eyes I see those little pants ..

I've grown to love Jimmy, the character has evolved quite nicely over time. In the beginning he was just as nasty & vile and as one note as the rest of the Kings but he's soften so much whether it has been caused by what has happened to the Kings or his relationship with Kelly.

Nicola has always been a favourite of mine so putting her together with Jimmy was IMO genius.

I wouldn't go that far!

Upon reflection you're probably right. I was being cruel to infectious diseases there. .

I think a lot of the softening of his character has been down to Scarlett, too. She really seems to have brought out his caring, paternal side over the past couple of years. I suppose that's good practice for the alleged spoilers that I have read on here.

Hell yeah! I can't believe I forgot about him & Scarlett, it has indeed been a major factor in who Jimmy has become. Their relationship has been one of the more sweeter things about Emmerdale in the last few years.

It has indeed been very sweet. I think Jimmy was the only member of the Kings who really accepted Scarlett [imo]. I think the other two just saw her as something of a cash cow.

Putting him with Nicola was a stroke of genius - both characters have got a new lease of life and the resulting comedy seems totally natural and unforced.

What is it with the pants?? They were grey Paul Smith boxers with horizontal stripes if you really want to know... and you should have seen that scene before the edit!

I think of Jimmy as a bullied child, slowly coming into the light after seeing the error of his thugish ways. His desperation for family is his way of shoring up the breaking dam of the death and destruction that has surrounded him.

Or summat!

Nicola works for Jimmy cos he can take her aggression and he understands that it may come from a dark place. He knows those places to his cost. He wants to make it better.

Something we never thought we'd see confirmed!!! The pants garnered huge interest!

Scuse me for a min whilst I have a mini-rant. See this is why I bang on all the time about ED actors understanding their characterisations - they bloody do!

On a less serious note I really love Jimmy and Nicola together. Superb pairing. Funny and moving by turns. I am really feeling for Lexi at the moment but if she does something daft about Jim and Nic's baby I might have to hate her all over again.

Love hearing praise for Lexi, that's a tough role and she's one of my favourite actors on the show, and I'm REALLY not supposed to say that so you know it must be true.

Awww! Lexi has been developed very well recently and I think that Sally Oliver is doing a great job! The whole thing has been wonderful with the way that the Jimmy/Nicola relationship has been tied in with Carl/Lexi. I think that I have been loving the Nicola and Lexi scenes as much as the Jimmy and Nicola ones

I am a new viewer and Lexi has been very interesting for me! Really loving her storyline at the moment and I think Sally Oliver is doing a fantastic job. Can't wait to see where this story ends up. And so marvellous to have Nicola's pregnancy and Lexi's story right next to each other.

yeah i agree, Lexi is brill!! i must admit - don't tell her this but at first when she first joined, i wasn't too sure whether she would fit into the show or not but she has become a great character and Sally is possibly as you say one of the best actors in Emmerdale

She is a very complex character and Sally Oliver really conveys her emotional insecurities and vulnerabilities very well IMO. I think the current combination of the characters at Mill Cottage are working really well together - Nicola's been a superb addition.

Your insights on Jimmy's character are fascinating - you seem to have a fantastic grasp on the character and it definitely shows through on screen

Jimmy is such a doofus. It's amazing he's survived in that ruthless family.

But he is enjoyable to watch.
