connecting ipod to wifi
Happy_Chappy

I'm trying to connect to wifi for first time on my new ipod touch. It is picking up my sky network at home but won't recognise the password when I try to log in. I have double checked with the router that I have the correct password.

What am I doing wrong?

not sure mate, have you tried connecting anything else to your wireless? how about logging into your router and either turning off the encryptions (temporarily only) or changing your wireless password. is it wep or wpa2 encrypted.
sorry for not being too specific, I have no experience of the sky router (on O2 myself).

Hi,

Click this link: http://192.168.0.1/sky_wireless_settings-wpa.html which should bring up a user name and password prompt. Enter 'admin' in the user name field and 'admin' in password, unless you've changed them. You should then be presented with the wireless access page.
Under 'Security Options' click 'Disable' and then 'Apply'. Try connecting again.

1 word = Lowercase.

You need to make sure you are entering the password into the ipod in uppercase. Select the shift key on the touchscreen keyboard on the ipod. You need to hit the shift key once before you enter every letter of the password.

Or you can double tap it to enable Caps Lock.

This works, thanks. Surely not very safe though?

Thanks for suggestion though.

So can connect now but only with security settings disabled.

New problem now though - cannot connect to Internet when just have router turned on, will only connect when computer is also switched on.

Any idea what's wrong now?
Or further advice on the password problem?
