C4 Recordings Ending Early
Watched Grand Designs last night and yet again C4 chopped off the end of the programme.
I use the auto-timing settings so it's C4 that are incorrectly broadcasting the timing info. Does anyone else see this and does anyone have any idea who to contact at C4 to complain about this? Still loving the Humax

They seem to do this all the time with GD.
Fortunately it just cuts off the very end of the closing waffle. (Which seems to have got even longer this series.) |

Still loving the Humax ![]() We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed Grand designs started a minute or two late. Your comments have been logged and passed on to those involved in our programming. Normally, we recommend that viewers start recording programmes five minutes early and finish five minutes late, to allow for any slight changes in timing. Although many programmes are pre-recorded they are put on air individually and can be subject to subtle changes before the final edit is produced. For this reason, amongst others, the team in charge of transmission can have many variables to deal with, whilst trying to stick as closely as possible to the published schedule. We hope you will appreciate just how difficult this job can be and that, although it usually runs very smoothly, the schedule is subject to changes from time to time. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate all feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise. I've got my HDR set to auto you muppets, send the broadcast data properly then it will be fine. They've managed to cock up every episode this series, schedule changes my backside. |

Well, I've complained via their web site and specifically stated that I don't want them to tell me to pad the recording
![]() Let's see what they come back with... |

When I first had the PVR I kept missing the start and end of programs on channel 4's family of channels so I switched it from auto to padding (2 mins pre and 5 mins post).
This has solved nearly all the problems except when a channel has live programming that could over-run (i.e. F1 on BBC1) as the EPG and iPlate will quite happily show the latest updated schedule with the new finish times however the Humax does not adjust its scheduled recording that is currently in progress and finshes at the original scheduled time + 5 minutes (post padding). |
