Mikado chocolate sticks

Oh my goodness these things are scrummy. I bought them because they are half price in sainsbury's at the moment.

They are so light and crispy, the only downside is I could (and have ) eat(en) a whole pack without knowing and because they are light you don't feel full and stodgy...though it makes you want to eat more

Has anyone else tried them??

Are they the ones with the woman on the photocopier - I saw that in the afternoon and was quite shocked by her 'positioning'.

Me too!

I only saw the full advert last night and realised she was reaching up for something. Before, I only saw it half way through and thought she was purposefully copying her 'bits'! I also thought, well it is a Japanese ad and we all know their ads are crazy!

I was tempted to get a box. The advert had an effect on me

It was the advert that did it for me too. Anyone who ends up photocopying her bits just for a choccy stick is daft, unless it's a good choocy stick.

I have eaten a small multipack box very quickly, am resisting all my urges to go to the kitchen and get another box!!!

Overpriced but they are the best "Pocky" ever. Yes they are a licensed european version of the Japanese classic, often sold in Chinese supermarkets, but because they use european chocolate instead of the more waxy chocolate used in Japan and the other far-eastern versions they are even better.

That said, KP choc dips are very similar and much cheaper (also a licensed Japanese product) as are Cadburys chocolate fingers.

If these are popular, do you think there is any likelihood of strawberry Pocky making it to supermarkets here? Mm.

I hate that advert

Is Japanese chocolate good? I remember my sis bring home chocolate ladybirds. Not that nice IIRC.

Mikado uses better (european) chocolate, better than chocolate Pocky. Strawberry Pocky is better than the far-eastern chocolate Pocky.

Worst of all are Jack n' Jill chocolate sticks, the Phillipino rival also sold in Chinese food stores, inedible I'd say.

These are on Saturday shopping list for sure.

The woman in Sainsburys offering free tasting kept saying only 11 calories each. That may be so, but there is no way you could eat just one. My daughter and I ate the whole box between us in one go. Nice though.

Got a box of these tonight and am not greatly impressed. Nice, but nothing you couldn't get from chocolate fingers or a tub of chocolate spead and a box of breadsticks and that would also be a lot cheaper.

I just prefer eating my way through a jar of nutella with a teaspoon
