To be fair its not boil in the bag stuff, its sous vide, which many top chefs use. However I don't think I would want to eat a restaurant where most the food is prepared off site in some factory - I'd rather the food was made on site and was fresh.

Love the way The Sun keep pointing out the kitchen is in a run down part of London, like that actually matters, sounds like a usual bitter attack from a crappy tabloid.

****ing scum press.

Having sampled his branded chocolate I'm not surprised, he's just in it for the money, damn the hypocrisy.

If you read through the article, you can see that he owns the so called food factory Basically, he's employing his own people to cook some of his food off site and then it's delivered to the various restaurants. Can't really see the problem with that, it's not like he's sending in frozen food from Iceland

The van delivered food may indeed be cooked under his direction, fair enough. A bit of honesty about the fact is what is needed.

I have always thought what is the point of having a branded cook (a cook, that's all they are at the end of the day) charging such ridiculous prices when they are no where near the kitchen at the time of your visit to that particular venue. It's Ramsey's proteges such as both the award winning Marcus Wareing and Angela Hartnet for being in their kitchens that deserve real praise. Well done for Wareing saying that his former boss has spread himself too thin. No wonder he's in financial trouble, trying to be more than he is. it's a truth and perhaps Ramsey should consider going back to basics.

I agree with that, I too think he's spread himself way too thin of late. He seems fanatically driven, and has got himself to a point where he hardly has time to be at any of his restaurants at all.

I love his aka Cheat and Two Veg. Will be interesting to also hear if his alleged mistresses are indeed cover stories for still alleged via the back door dealings.

Let's get some facts into this:-

(1)It is not one of his fancy restaurants, it's basically a pub owned by him.

(2) The food is cooked at a place owned by him, it is not 'ready meals' imported by him.

(3) Gordon Ramsay never has or will claim to cook at Foxtrot Oscar and if you expect to get a main course for a tenner cooked by him then you are deluded.

(4) They make it sound like people are being ripped off, I'd have thought that £2 for a portion sold at £11.50 was fairly standard, unless someone can enlighten me otherwise.

Maybe it is best if food is cooked offsite, rather than in mice and cockroach infested conditions!

Sounds about right to me, I used to work as a chef (or cook as someone has pointed out) and we had a mark up of 65% GP on all our food AT THE LOWEST, we used to buy lamb shoulders in bulk and they avaraged at about £2.00 each when bought in bulk, then we used to stick mash and roast veg with it and charge £14.99.

Most pub chains pre-prepare their food these days, pies, tarts they are all made en-mass, this doesnt mean factory produced, you basically have one guy in an industrial kitchen making 500 pies a day and another making 500 tarts, at least thats how we used to do it!

Also Ramsays pub has never claimed to serve micheline quality food prepared by the man himself, he just owns the place not manages it!

The press is always gonna be the same, they love the stories about the working class kid making it big, bu as soon as that kid IS big and has celebrity status, the press like nothing more then shooting them down any chance they get!!
