Hi..
I made some home made sausage rolls this morning, and took some into work, and they went down a treat..A Friday Treat
Here is the recipe,,They are scrummy!!
I dont make the pastry ,i used frozen called Just Roll, and followed what it says on the pack..Buy from many super markets
For the filling....
1 medium onion(grated or chopped)
1lb sausagemeat
sprinkle some mixed herbs
2 or 3 cloves of garlic(grated)
Mix the sausagemeat, onion, and garlic( and seaoning) in a bowl..Then roll out pastry on a floured board, to form an obling(as thin as you can)..Cut this oblong into three strips and devide the sausagemeat also into three, making three long rolls the same length as the strips of pastry( if sticky sprinkle some flour)...PLace one roll of sausagemeat onto one strip of pastry..Brush with little milk along one edge of the pastry, then fold over and seal (carefully)..lift the whole thing up and turn it so the sealed edge is underneath...Press lightly and cut into individual rolls each about 2 inches long..Use a sharp knife and slit the middle of each one top...Then just brush the tops with rest of milk (or an egg)..Place on baking sheets and bake high(200 degrees) for about 20 to 30 mins in hot oven.....Enjoy..
